How To Make a Custom Minecraft Skin For Java and Bedrock

I remember making my own Minecraft skins on Skindex. One feature that's completely possible in Minecraft but not offered as a feature on Skindex is translucent pixels on the second layer. I then wanted to switch to NovaSkin which has EVERY tool one could want for skin making, but that was blocked on my house's WiFi. To make my skins now, I use the image editor I got with my computer. It's a little tricky to use since you're editing the skin file in it's 2D form, but once you know how the sections are placed in the model, you can make some really cool skins. I just have to remember to turn on the transparent background, or my skin will appear in game blank white with a couple details.

Actually, there are ways to use your own "skins" in minecraft using non-premium launchers, only that the methods are varied, the ones that I recommend the most are those that are through plugins, because with them ALL the players will be able to see the skin that use. Anyway this video is pretty good and even still useful for non-premium players

The launcher’s built-in Skins tab has infinite skin slots that you can easily switch between, as well as uploading skins directly to it!

Bedrock marketplace is not an advantage. You have to pay for good customization, through minecoins, and if you play on console, it is very hard to import your own very custom skin,if not impossible, so you can't truly be yourself

when I was making my skin I remember I wanted to have translucent pixels, so I tried an online app, it kinda worked then I tried using gimp and I basically had to make about 18 copies of the same skin file changing it each time to get what I wanted😅

The code I found is at 2:06, if anyone is wondering Edit: I am not exactly sure how many letters/numbers the minecraft reddem code needs to have so I might've been wrong about the 2:06 code and is really just a UUID code

Hello I am a bedrock player and I like to make my own skins. I know that it can be tough for java edition players because of this. Making your own skins lets your creativity sprout and thats why I do not use the tools bedrock edition gives me. I also find it really fun to make your own skins and show it to other people. I use Aseprite to do my skins XD i love making gradiants on the skin. And for the bedrock i completly use the skinmaker that's integrated. With that the characters even blink their eyes so yeah... i almost never play on bedrock, but that's other story.
