I don't usually listen to Cherkassky much, but I'm glad I listened to this. I can definitely hear the kinship to Hofmann.

I had a Polish music teacher in 8th grade, who explained to me as if it was the most natural thing in the world that when Poland became its own country again after WW1, Paderewski played the piano the best, so they picked him as prime minister.
