Thanks, so much! A phantom power video would be helpful, too. Any suggestions?
@TomQsTechTips6 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicole. I don't really know much about phantom power, except that some mics need it and your mixer has to support that extra need for power for those types of mics to work. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Thanks for this video @Tom! You are right, there are no good reviews online about this mic! If I might ask, have you ever tried the MX series goosenecks?
@TomQsTechTips7 жыл бұрын
This was my first gooseneck mic Steve. And maybe my last. There might be better ones out there, but I am happy enough with this one to end my search.

Thanks for the video Tom. It has been very instructive to me. Now my doubts about buying it or not have been resolved. I will buy it. Can you please write down the model of the Shure stand in which you insert?
@TomQsTechTips6 жыл бұрын
Alberto Lorenzo T. Hi... on Amazon it is listed as “Shure CVD-B XLR Desktop Base, 12-Inch Cable (Black)”

Tom Q's Tech Tips so there are 2 cables, one via a USB connection and one is the phantom power using power brick?
@GodsForetoldWork4 жыл бұрын
@@markgeoff222 The Shure Centraverse COULD plug directly into the Zoom H6. I purchased the base stand which just passes the XLR through to the 12' cable that is attached. I had to activate the Phantom power on the Zoom for the XLR port I wanted to plug into. I power the Zoom using my Mac's USB. The Shure gets its power through that.

Between the Shure MX418, the Shure GM 5924, and the Audio-Technica PRO 49QL, which one would you prefer? I am undecided between those for conferences.

explain what is PHM power
@TomQsTechTips9 ай бұрын
I am not an expert in these things, but some microphones are just more power hungry and will not function unless the destination that they are plugged into can provide them with that power. The term for that is “phantom power”.
