This mic sounds almost the same as all the mics featured regarding the spoken word. It's a plug-and-play, and to me, it sounds great. Some people are not techies or care about all the extra; this is an excellent, dependable microphone for reaction videos, gaming, and streaming. People should match their mic to their voice. Shure mics are great for people with deep voice tones. So, please know this is a great starter/beginner-friendly budget microphone.

The MV6 is almost shockingly disappointing for me. Kind of.. almost upsettingly bright? Podmic-esque, almost? It needs a little bit of lowend presence, and a little bit less treble. Shame, cause the build definitely looks nice and capacitive mute is also very cool. The 150hz highpass is way too aggressive IMO, 75 is better but still not great with the tone, but the denoiser is OK, even if I feel it alters the tone a little. The plosive option makes the plosives feel almost painful to me? The MV6 would sound bad on me (the sE V2 is already a bit of a tough fit for my voice as-is). For $150 I guess it's not too bad, but you can spend a lot less for a Q2u, or spend a bit more for a Procaster if you're running XLR.
@loudandclearmediaАй бұрын
I would imagine by blending in the "dark mode," a lot of that presence boost would be tamed but I get it, that just adds further complication. Of the options that are competitive-ish on price I thought the Podmic sounded nice, and I know the passive Podmics are even cheaper.

Considerations: It's amazing how good the Samson Go Mic is. Maybe the best value for money of all time. The Fifine K688 is also incredibly decent, especially for the price it costs. It's also impressive how excellent the original version of the Shure Mv7 is compared to the Mv6, and all the others in the same price range. It's even better than the new Plus version. The Rode Podmic USB also sounds very good.

Thank you for the review. I decied to buy it. I have one concern. I plugged the mic and it´s very quiet in the default I have to put it in max so it could be like in "normal" volume. I already check the volume of the Windows sound. Thanks for the video.

I do not know about specialized use like that. If I remember correctly the telephone was designed to transmit 300hz - 3000hz because that's what was necessary for clear speech. So you could probably just EQ whatever mic you have with a highness filter around 200-300hz and a low pass filter around 3000-5000hz and get pretty understandable audio. But I don't have a direct answer for that specialized use.

Hey mate, i have scarlett solo gen 4, what should i get between shure sm7b, sm7db, or mv7+?
@Podcastage2 ай бұрын
Given those 3 options: I'm not a fan of the MV7+ because the USB output sounds a bit funky to me. The SM7B and SM7dB will yield very similar noise performance so there's no clear winner there. The question is, how quiet are the sound sources you're recording? The 4th gen should be able to drive the SM7B no problem (kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5uqdWmBhbyJeKMsi=ge7amwqv5ocGE6O3&t=218), but if you're going to be micing quiet sound sources at a distance the SM7dB may be necessary, but honestly if that's what you're recording the SM7-line is probably not the right choice.
@Narutouzumaki32262 ай бұрын
@Podcastage thanks for your kindly response, to be honest, my room is untreated one and there are sounds which able to distract and reduce my quality such as motocycle sound, neighbour sound, air conditioner,etc. So that's why i search for a good quality mic which introduce me to sm7b or sm7db, from my condition should i decide to buy sm7b or db or should i get another mic and do you have any recomendation. Thanks and sorry to write a long text.

If you compare MV6 with MV7 plus, which one is better in a quality of a sound via USB connection? Did you feel any difference between them? I ask cuz I am interested in a buying one of them, and really wonder if it's worth to overpay for MV7 PLUS
@shin40872 ай бұрын
I don't really comment on videos but man, is this really a Shure mic? Why does it sound so artificial and processed? Maybe it's just my "gaming" headphones but this just sounds bad... I would get tired if I had to listen to someone speak through this microphone all day. Also how is this a "Gaming" mic and they included no shock rejection in the default mounting option? The Q2u and even the FiFine sounded so much better to my ears while being half the price. Even the DSP processing doesn't save it for me purely because of the tone of the microphone that you can't adjust other than that slider (which doesn't fix my gripes with it at all). At least the poper stopper actually did the job from the sound of it but are you really going to need it if you're using that stand they provided? The whole package seems pretty disappointing to me.
