***** Hi lachlan, I am currently live in UK where it's nearly impossible to get the limited edition. So I am thinking about buying the SE215 normal edition in black colour. I wonder are they noticeably different between the normal and the blue edition? is it worth getting the normal one instead of the blue one at the moment? Thanks. (I really want to get a shure earphone and I listen to all sorts of music, literally all sorts!)
@lachlanlikesathing11 жыл бұрын
Unforutunately I've never directly compared the two. When I read comments about people who own both, they seem pretty similar.

ah thanks, I think if the price aren't very different, I might as well get the blue one from hong kong.

If you tuck the cable in your shirt the cable cant flop around and pull the plugs out. I use the shures during all my workouts and they workout quite well, thats for sure! Get it? Shure you do!
@lachlanlikesathing8 жыл бұрын
+ryan flippin most assuredly a good tip

The cable is also designed to run down your back and then adjust the slider to be tight to your neck. This then stops them flopping around and secures everything tight!

I’ve been looking for a new pair of earphones, and the Shure SE 215 really struck me, especially since now that there’s a wireless cable option, I could switch between wired and wireless. This really helped me make some more decisions, since I love a good bass-y sound. Great review, really helped!

I really love your videos, very professional reviewing and details for every aspect, you have really cleared my thoughts for my new pair. Ive left with last 2 options, the shure se215 and the vsonic gr07. Considered they are samely priced these days.. Which one would you more recommend? I really like the perfect fit for the ear to noise cancelling and comfort of the shure, but I didnt like the heavy cable with the super wide jack.. I do enjoy bass hearing so the better one that.. I mostly listen to electronic pop and acoustic.. Can you help me decide please? Thanks!

this is late. but i have the 425 now and yeah it does have a more airy feeling and dont get the 425 just get the 535.not that the 425 is bad. But I feel it would sound even better with the 3rd driver since the bass in the 425 is there. But the 5235 seems to have deeper bass.

hi I am really enjoying your reviews. I just bought the 215's a week ago after a lot of searching. im generally happy with them. I opted for the cable with the mic which is a little more flimsy compared to the stock one. do you have any recommendations for a custom cable (reasonably priced) that is better build and has a mic? I find a lot of results without mics.... was hoping for your thoughts. also, if I wanted to stay in the 80-200 dollar range, is there a better model (any brand) similar to the 215s but really hands down beats them?

I enjoy using these for everything from orchestral, jazz, rock, edm, indie and classical piano. These are great if you need to wear a hat and skarf and work outdoors since it will stay in place even if the cable gets tugged a bit. They also hang around your ears if you need to take them out for a break or to hear someone speak. Losing my earbuds in my jacket is a real hassle so the over-ear design does a good job at preventing that.

Hi my name is Danny nice to find ur review video, I'm planning to buy new earphone since my SE215 lost last year, and i need ur suggestion, I find bass sound in SE215 is more like "humming" than "punchy", for my next earphone i want it to be more precise, crispier treble and punchier bass, i find ur review about EPH100 pretty accurate (since i tried it yesterday), but i also look into GR07 and RHA750, what's ur suggestion?

@Daniel-md1fm11 жыл бұрын
Very good review Lachlan, I agree with 99% of your thoughts on the SE215LTD. The only thing I'd say is that I don't think it's suitable to be used at the gym becasue the sweat can actually oxidize the colour of the IEM and rub off the silver detailing on the IEM, I used my Shure's at the gym and it did exactly that but I didn't use it for long enough for it to oxidize, I ended up getting a replacement and I'm very happy with them so far, I just hoped I could use them more often now. .

Also comfort is a biggie for me, my ears are a bit on the small side, just not large. The price between these earphones I can afford, it just the matter of preference. Thanks!

Karl Wang I have the JVC FXT90 and you heard right, they do sound amazing. Full sound with rich bass, warm mids and clear, but not harsh treble. The FXT90 has two drivers and in general gets better reviews for sound quality than the Shure SE215. See link of ratings below. The SE215 also have to be worn with the cable over the ear and the FXT90 can be worn with the cable down, which for many is more comfortable and faster to put on. The main advantage of the Shure is the detachable cables which can be replaced if need be. For pure sound quality, I'd pick the JVC. theheadphonelist.com/headphone-list/

After owning the GR07BE, is it still worth it to purchase a pair of SE215? The SE215 by itself looks like a good IEM albeit being a little bit bassy and hence lacking a little clarity compared to something like the GR07. I think the value of the SE215 comes from its supposedly really good sound isolation and durable cable, making it very good for travel. I am wondering if it is still worth it to buy it after buying a GR07BE which I'm sure probably sounds better than the SE215. This question has been on my mind because I really want that noise isolation and negative profile that the SE215 offers but I am only a student and $100 is no small amount for me. Is it worth it or is there something better for what I am looking for? $100 is not a big problem, but I don't want to spend that much if it is not a worthy enough upgrade.

Hi Lachlan, I'm Abhishek and I have been watching a lot of your reviews and I really like them. I have watched almost all or you IEM reviews and I am looking forward to get the Shure se215 special edition. But I have recently came across the RHA MA750 and would like to know which one would you recommend . And also if you could review the RHA's as well. I am a basshead but I have been using the Westone UM PRO 10's which are awesome in terms of clarity but not in terms of bass unless you use them with something that can really power them up. Something like a sound card. The bass is just awesome then.

Dear Lachlan , can you try to review the Shure Se846 ? I am planning to buy it but i am waiting for your own views about the earphone before a buy one . Thanks .

Unfortunately I don't plan on buying them any time soon. I've demoed them a few times and I've been impressed but I don't think they are worth the price. YMMV

+aqdas nawab which did u decide on? i am also deciding between the two
@aqdasnawab8 жыл бұрын
+StraightAnthony I ended up buying Sennheiser Momentum Over Ear Headphones which weren't even on the list but then it was boxing day lol. Love them. Honestly if i had to pick between those two i wud read and watch some more reviews. At the end of the day it all comes down to wat u need them for and whats ur personal preference. Both are great imo.
