AKG is the absolute winner. Frequency response clearly more extended than the other 2 microphones, you can hear cymbals very clear and loud , other than snare drum, and also the bass drum is more evident and punchy ... it's a matter of sensitivity and the AKG microphone has the best sensitivity among the 3 microphones , and respectful of the natural sound of the snare drum ...

The Shure definitely handled the initial transient attack the best. The sennheiser to me had the best balance of bright and full....and the AKG seems to need the least amount of eq. I prefer the warmth of the shure mic hands down.

Was mic placement random, or did you find the sweet spor for each mic? Neither of them are similarly placed

the mics were placed above the edge of the snare pointing towards the center

Thanks. Good test. AKG had the highest resolution as a condenser mic. Nice to hear it compared with the classic dynamics SM-57 and E-604. I think I actually prefer the AKG.
