technically until you start to roll and actually hit something you are down a prismatic. you have 100 gold to be sitting level 6 with half a board of one stars. meanwhile youre fighting someone level 7 with coronation. that 100 gold isnt doing a whole lot in that fight is it. but then you roll down 4-1 and hit a crazy board earlier than everyone else so now youre back

Adaptive helm (backline) works as a mana generation item like shojin. Malza had enough damage already, so what he needed was mana generation, to cast more than ONCE per battle and effectively put his damage to use
