This is my first tutorial! I hope people find it informative and easy to follow ^_^
It's lengthier than I thought, but I tried to cover as much ground as I could.

Yeah, it's true, this is SUPER helpful. Applique is one of those things that everyone sees but few understand, so I'm REALLY happy you made this tutorial. I'm sure I'll use it in the future, thanks so much!

That'd be a good one to do a tutorial on! I have about 4 others in the make at the moment, but I will add this to tutorials to make in the future.

I would love to see applique done the opposite way as well, like when you cut the shape out of the fabric and put another fabric behind it. I've seen it done but never really known how to do it.

OOOO THANK YOU!!! I've been meaning to learn how to do this and I really like how you stepped through explaining the different threads and machine functions! SUBCRIBED INSTANTLY!! So now I'm wondering, is the fabric that you used normal cotton? and how would you approach doing this say for spandex or veil type fabric?

This tutorial works best with fabrics with no stretch. I used twill weight in this tutorial, but you can use it with most none stretch fabrics (satin, suitings...ect). With spandex and veiling, I'd suggest using temporary spray adhesives found in most quilting stores (walmart has them too). This way the temp spray glue will disappear after you are done sewing without residue and still stretches and doesn't lose the fabric characteristics. Sorry I didn't answer earlier ^_^

This works for most fabrics and that includes bridal satin ^_^ Infact I just did an applique with it today! Sorry I didn't answer this much earlier. As you probably noticed by now, I'm not really accustomed with youtube yet. I am however very impressed at how many people found this video helpful so I will be producing more tutorials very soon!!

Question! Can we still use this method on bridal satin? I just making some swirls on my dress and im trying to figure out a way of doing the design on my dress.
