I really really like this quilt! I think I'll be making this one for my last niece's shower/wedding gift. I don't have any children, but I do have 6 nieces and nephews. Every time one of them got engaged, I asked what colors they like. I then made a quilt in a pattern of my choice in their colors. They have all loved the quilts I made for them. And so far, I've made 2 baby quilts. Making quilts gives me joy, too!

I cut my strips when I was just learning quilting and knew nothing. Good fortune is I cut out so many strips there’s enough for 2 quilts! So, I’m using Jenny’s idea and my original. Lovely quilt Jenny! Hope I can do a show and tell with your method and my own when both quilts are done. Stay in stitches everyone.

It's a flash back to the "3 Dudes" era and also the "hidden wells" pattern. What's old is new again! Lol

Was this the 3 Dudes from Arizona? When I,lived in Phoenix there was a shop in Tempe (I think!) with guys who owned it and called it 3 Dudes! It’s been long gone into another shop and probably isn’t there at all as I’ve been gone from the Valley since 2003.

This pattern might just make a go with the fabrics my guild has which really aren’t to my taste - but with the white smaller strips and cut diagonally, these fabrics might just work. We make smaller quilts for a Children’s Advocacy Center - maybe up to 50” wide as there are children of all ages and boys and girls and we don’t know who will be there in October when we have ladies from there come to our meeting where we present the quilts to them.
