marty, im 13 and ive been watching your videos since i was 9, ive probably watched almost all your vids. i look up a new song to learn about every 2 weeks for the past 4 years, and never have i once not seen your video at the top result. i quite honestly wouldn't be surprised if you have a video for every song ever made. thank you so much for teaching guitar

Marty, you da man! Not just this song but most any song i need to learn in a hurry, you are there!! From Dead songs to dance songs. I have a feeling that one day we'll meet and i can thank you in person. Great playing and insight on some Dead riffs
@urbanothepopeofdeath9 жыл бұрын
just went thru the music theory part of marty's website. (took advantage of the 3 day free thing) and I have to say, after watching many videos on you tube with various good teachers, no one put theory to actual playing quite like this. So clear on how to apply this stuff !! and so clear and easy to understand the actual theory. great stuff marty.

Thank you so much! This song has been stuck in my head since me and some friends karaoke'd it. I thought about using tabs, but I'm still not very good with them so this helped a lot

Great song for the beginning of what feels like a great month!
@Bodyknowledge779 жыл бұрын
Mighty fine tune catchy tune. The main lick a bit U2's "Where Streets Have No Name" influenced highly? :-). Just noticed in the pre chorus some AC/DCishness happening as well. Good stuff Marty "Guitar Man" Schwartz
@Bodyknowledge779 жыл бұрын
Becky A. When one composes something its hard for influences not to come out here and there.In this instance its pretty overt and I think they just said the heck with it!:-0 I attempt to not overtly do it with the stuff I compose, but hey its hard to avoid entirely!
@JamBear9 жыл бұрын
Becky A. With that logic all U2 songs are totally a Beatles knockoff
@Bodyknowledge779 жыл бұрын
Becky A. I VERY much agree on the Sam Smith - Tom Petty deal. Its EXTREMELY hard not be somewhat derivative. If someone has the goal to have a decent amount or ALOT of people to listening to what they create they need to sound like what is currently popular, what is classic/timeless or a combination of both. Being good/great and original occurs so seldom. So few have been able to do it..
@JamBear9 жыл бұрын
Becky A. I don't hear the similarities between the Bruno Mars and whoever-it-was songs either and frankly don't see where the controversy comes from. Sampling music is fine, but influences somehow need to be suppressed in music? It's a bit of a tricky field but that's the risk you take when you put art out there.

at the intro i find it easier instead of moving backvthe first finger to play 9 on the 3rd string and your middle to play 10 fret on both 1-2nd string i keep my first finger on the 10 for 1 -2 string and just put the pinky on 15th fret of the 4th string :)

That intro riff sounds much harder than it actually is when you are shown. You compare it to U2, and their riffs are the same. The echo effect makes it sound harder.
