On my central boiler I used a fan on the draft door to heat up faster and lower the amount of smoke. You never had any partially burnt wood but I burnt a few more cords a year

Hi Gary, a couple of observations: 1) I noticed that you are not using the turbulator baffles that insert into the gaps in the heat exchanger. Curious why you have opted not to use them . 2) I also saw that you did not attempt to remove the combustion air tubes on the sides of the firebox. Are you able to make sure they are clean from the air box looking in? I had to hire service guy to get them out last year, not an easy thing to do. I have a Classic Edge Titanium 360.

My furnace didn’t come with tabulators. I pull the air tubes each year and clean them. I probably didn’t record that on this episode.

Hi Gary from the UK great video very interesting and informative keep, watching the video I was thinking couldn't you get a propane weed burner and burn it of and then scrap it the heat will soften the pitch, and a leaf blower to clear the dust, just a thought

I have to get the right channel off mine. I think its been plugged for months. Is it just a matter of spinning them out or is there some bults hidden in that mess?

The new ones come out with one bolt. Super easy

Next heating season will be my first using the 560. Can the side air tubes be removed at the end of a cycle to clean out more often throughout the burn year so they don't get stuck in there, or is that asking for too much trouble during the burn season trying to get them back in while they are hot? They are not necessarily easy to get out in a brand new stove when cold, so don't know if it is even a consideration during the burn time of the year?

You can pull them a couple times a year to make sure airflow is perfect. One time in the middle of the year would be more than enough

Don’t feel bad. Took me two tries shutting mine down this year. My side channels were stuck. I had to do some persuading to get them out. I clean my tee out every other week when I clean my heat exchanger. Do you have the flat scraper and the half moon scraper? Makes life much easier

@@RockyAcresFarmstead the half moon scraper is for the afterburner on the 560. The flat scraper works great on the heat exchanger. The handle is curved, so just flip it around to scrape the curved fronts on the exchanger channels. Hope it helps!
