Just so you two know, the Masters 8 is a group that consists of the eight best Pokemon trainers in the anime. This is the current lineup in "Pokemon Journeys". Anyway, this was such an amazing Pokemon rap cypher, and the verses were so incredible that I'm conflicted about which one is my favorite.

Just for those who dont know Alain cz he aint in the games. He's the rival Ash had in the Kalos anime and so far the only rival Ash never beat. He also beat Ash in the Kalos league finals (and the fandom did NOT take that lightly).

I think the reason he referenced November specifically was because all the main series pokémon games always come out in November, so that could be it. Anyways, I loved the cypher and your reaction! Always a joy to watch!

I can’t stop listening to this cypher. I just had it on-loop when it came out, and I couldn’t stop jamming to it. Best verse IMO might be either Rustage’s or Mat4Yo’s, but it’s hard to pinpoint since they all slay harder than Trevor Belmont.

"drag-ur-pult if you cape the cap line" , let's break this down for sec. The cap is Leon's crown because in the anime he's referred to as monarch. Cape means to steal something, and the "drag-ur-pult" I believe is just a threat like something like " I'll beat your ass if you take my crown ", yaknow what I mean? I could be wrong but that's my interpretation

If you look at the previous evolution, drakloak, you can assume that in this context it means the old English way of saying pelt, in this context probably in reference to clothes. Basically, he'll drag your ass. A little esoteric but it works in context

Pult in pokemon refers to A Pokemon Multi-Battle in which four players duke it out. Pults are a sacred anything goes battle for fun. Basically saying he’s going to drag you around in battle

Im always amazed by how often the anime rap community makes videos and songs together. And the speed at which everyone improves with the constant "exposure" to each other's songs it feels like everyone boosts everyone both artistically and competitively to get better from working together and putting out content so often. And at the end of the day its everyone who watches and enjoys the songs, cyphers and rap battles who wins. Thank you guys for the quality content feels like I dont have time to watch it all sometimes. Hope it keeps going for a long time, cheers!

UK DUO! The Masters 8 is probably the most ambitious thing the anime has ever attempted; it's the 8 strongest trainers in the anime world, consisting of 6 standard champions, the newly crowned Alolan champion Ash, and the anime-exclusive strongest rival Alain. The anime kinda flopped the Masters 8 in execution and didn't really live up to expectations, but these artists certainly did! Oh my goodness, this was everything I could've asked for and more

Just incase somebody actually gets to see this I think the November bar is good because he mentions ground previously. The Pokémon charizard aka the one on screen at the time has both the types fire and flying. The ember part is a reference to the fire type and the four times week part is because if a ground type move is able to damage a flying and fire type it is four times affective aka four times weak to ground.

Drag-ur-pult, I think is supposed to be a very bent "Drag Your Pelt". Cape of course is the piece of clothing but it also is both the pelt of the head and neck of an animal as well as being the verb that describes the process of skinning the head and neck of any animal with the intent of making it into a trophy. So if we read it in that context, he'll drag your pelt back if you steal his hat, but that's because he's already ready to cape your cap. I tried, I'm sorry that's all I got.
