As someone currently doing mechanical engineering in school and taking a machine shop class, the reason he doesn’t have anything on his hands while using the machines is because if you wear gloves or something, they could potentially get caught in the machine and pull the rest of your hand in. Better to be missing some skin off one finger than to have your entire hand mutilated by a machine that’s spinning at very high rpms.
@mallardofmodernia80922 жыл бұрын
Not just that but for some tools wearing gloves worsens your precision and feel for using said tool.

Metal chips from cutting tools usually aren't all that sharp, so touching/stepping on them isn't as severe as one might imagine. I've seen the original video 2-3 times already and never noticed the brick joke of the cabinet door falling off after he stole the hinges. Funny stuff

I actually yelled out loud when he was putting the metal shavings in his pants. What a horrifying feeling to imagine.

Honestly sparks are only hot for a brief second, and if anything are more surprising than painful. Had one slip behind my cover shirt and burnt a hole in my undershirt. And generally, grinding metal doesn't usually give off a lot of heat, so handling it with no gloves is safer and easier, seeing as gloves tend to take away grip control. Lastly; you'd be surprised how much punishment the human skin can take

0:30 great rigging 5:31 I showed the original to my dad who is a big do-it-yourselfer and a big simp for safety. This made him angry, and when I told him to keep watching, he yelled at me and stormed off.

I feel like this guy would either die the first day of the zombie apocalypse or be the last one left alive. There's no middleground.
