Turns under 3 meters have little design shape more skidding less ski design deflection involvement. Skills applied sequentially, weight shifts active, rotary high in the turn, edge at the end for speed control. Vertical extension/ flexion good for bumps and powder... confused as expert skiing by amateurs... a good first step to dynamic movements...

Really good job guys! About where you say that a good short-turner has to cross "that red line" (min 8.00 and so forth)...I find that it has to be watched in relation with what you say at min 16.45 of this other video kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJeqq2ZtZrF-rtE&ab_channel=SIAAustria

One of favourite video....really technical...really deep inside some relevant short turn's patterns👍👌

The pole plant can be retracted to a wrist-flick, which will reduce the over-rotation of the upper body (losing tail grip). Evening up the ankles/boots helps also with pressuring the ski earlier.

May I ask what is the purpose of short turns? Is it speed management?

fun ... plus very useful for mogul training.

Steeps, trees and moguls (but moguls involve a lot more). It is to allow you to ski in control - not really need for easy groomers.

Speed control on very steep, steep and icy, steep and moguls. And it’s way fun. And hitting a tree at 15 miles per hour is al lot more survivable than 30 mph. 😂. And it used to be good manners to stay in your lane, speed under control, not turning all across the place half out of control.
