I got a stray kitten who looked like a seal point siamese as a baby complete with the blue crossed eyes. Her coat evolved and she is now a "tortie point". So cute and so ornery.

My family rescued a flame point named Almost. When I took him to the shelter to get fixed, that’s when the lady at the shelter said he was a flame point when I asked her what breed he was. I’ve had him for around 2 years so far and he is a blessing. 😍

Very easy to happen because cats can share a lot of seeming characteristics, when the coats match it's easy to assume they're a well known breed.

My cats mum is Siamese, but you wouldn't know by looking at my cat. Her mum is the black one, but my cat looks like a tortoise shell cat but with a long body. She's very odd looking 😂

You did not even show a photo of the Snowshoe Siamese. I have 3 beautiful Snowshoe male cats and they are my world. I was excited to see Snowshoe in your video. But you completely snubbed them!

That’s because Snowshoes were purposely bred with Domestic Shorthairs. They are a breed of their own….not true Meezers. Snowshoes are unique all their own. From Wikipedia: In the 1960s, a cat owned by Siamese cat breeder Dorothy Hinds-Daugherty produced a litter of Siamese kittens in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Three of the kittens had unique markings, consisting of white points and feet.[2] Intrigued by their looks, she began working to breed cats like them, using seal point Siamese with bicolour American Shorthairs.[3] The offspring of those cats lacked the Siamese points, but by breeding the offspring to Siamese cats, the desired look was accomplished. We have a Applehead Seal point, an Old World Seal point, and an Applehead Chocolate Point.

DO NOT GET THE MODERN STYLE OF SIAMESE CAT. THEY ARE NOT HEALTHY. THEY DON'T LIVE FOR A LONG, LONG TIME. The Applehead and Classic Siamese Cats are generally healthy. It's not unusual for these cats to live 20+ years. Even with a Traditional or a Classic Siamese, there are health issues to be cognisant of. Siamese cats are prone to dental issues, so you'll want your cat to get regular dental work from the vet. My Classic Siamese girl is 17.5 years old and going strong; my mother's Traditional Siamese passed away at age 23. My vet says that I'm giving my girl ideal cat care, including high quality, species appropriate food (My girl has a nasty food allergy... she is fine with lamb, rabbit or venison... I feed her rabbit). The vet thinks my girl is a good candidate to join the 20 year club. My mother, on the other hand, provided her cat only adequate care. She purchased her food at the grocery store. Her cat became obsessed with fish and was that way when she got him from the animal shelter. She didn't provide him with dental care. So, even with not the best care, my mother's Siamese boy lived for a long, long time. Seal Point can have either black or dark brown points and be correct. I got my girl from a rescue, so by law, she had to be spayed. This is a shame, because she is breed standard correct, suitable for breeding.
