Our flush stopped emptying the cistern so I ended up swapping the whole unit.

Brilliant video! Saved me from trying to remove this closed coupled toilet from the wall to remove the entire cistern to replace the syphon! I liked the excellent detail of the various adjustments available. Very useful for refitting the unit! 👍👍👍

Excellent video, I've got one of these and the Siamp 99T bottom entry inlet valve, fitted by the lads who refurbed my bathroom 6 years ago .I noticed a few months later that there was no difference between the short and long flush but it didn't really bother me - now thanks to you I can adjust it. I presume they left it set to max for the short flush. Funny thing about the inlet valve - about 3 years ago I had to replace the diaphragm as it wasn't shutting off. I got 3 replacements from Screwfix and repaired it, last week I had the same problem so took the button and cistern lid off and fitted a new one, it didn't work every time so 2 days later put the remaining one in and it was the same - i did a bit of messing about and realised that if I screwed the button on the flush valve all the way in when the lid was off it worked - ditto with the lid on and the button really tightly screwed down. I cant figure out yet how the depth of the button can affect the fill valve but its working fine - going to download the destruction sheet for both items and see if I can find an answer. Thanks again for you video our kid. PS I live 10 mins from Siamps offfices in north Manchester and if I cant suss it out I'm going in to see them which reminds me ( absolutely nothing to do with plumbing but a funny story) the Siamp offices are on the same site that I worked in for nearly 30 years , "Ferranti Meters" and we had a guy in the Toolroom who for a laugh nicked one of the domestic single phase electricity meters we made, screwed it to a couple of bricks with the supply tails hanging out and took it to Norwebs store in Oldham to ask if they could calibrate it as he didn't think it was correct saying he would pick it up in a couple of weeks!

Ours seems to be the complete opposite and gets stuck up sometimes (keeps flushing water into the bowl). I ended up ordering an Optima 50 to replace it, but now it seems to be working again just because I removed the collar around the flush button that wasn't even needed. Maybe it had something to do with the overflow pipe since this would have altered the height. Probably wasted my money now, but I would probably be best off just fitting the new one anyway since it's less likely to have issues.

Make sure nothing is jammed and keeping the valve from fully closing.

Hi Thank you for your instructions, I cant for the life of me understand what was wrong with the old system of a ball cock valve and simple handle to lift the flush mechanism . so rugged and cheap thanks again.Mike

I ripped mine out and just get my butler to go in to the loo with a bucket of water every hour and pour it down - for a couple of trips he was getting quite flushed but he's used to it now.

Mine was leaking into the bowl. Replaced the washer and it solved it for a month. Started to leak into the bowl again so purchased a new unit. This didn’t resolve the issue. Had to pay for plumber to take the toilet apart and refit. Seems to be ok ….for now. Even the plumber couldn’t understand why when replacing the flush valve in the cistern it still didn’t seal! Rubbish consumable parts IMO.

Yes, we get this on occasions, perhaps some debris gets caught between the washer and the seat. Not the best.

I’ve got a Siamp Skipper 45, very similar. When I assembling there was a small red rubber seal/ ring that appeared but I didn’t know where it was from, any idea?

Further to my other reply, my Siamp fill valve that I mentioned didn't last long even with a new diaphragm fitted - worked about10 times on the run, but when we got up the following day it was still filling from the previous flush about 6 hours earlier.Ripped it out and got a complete new valve (Viva Skylo from Toolstation for £8.98).
