People out here in the states praise fighters like McGregor who hold a 22 and 5 record and think they are at the pinnacle of combat sports .. they have no earthly idea what goes on in Thailand, these people fight to put food on their table .. not to prance around on TV to talk about how they're the baddest out of a group of bums .. i watch a lot of boxing to and i have more appreciation for those fighters than i do regarding what goes on in the UFC because they also get taught very young and master the art of boxing, UFC is filled ugly shit, know a bit of everything but masters at none .. only a handful make such an impression worth talking about ... thai fighters easily rack up 200 fights well before their mid 20's, they live and breath this shit and its the reason why One right now along with Glory is being dominated by Thai fighters, to beat them you have to sacrifice more than most modern day fighters aren't willing to put on the table these days .. they just don't make em like they do in Thailand, and i've always respected their dedication to this craft ... thank you for displaying the best in the golden era .. its great to review the technique and heart these athletes have and your music selection is always fire .. keep at it!!

Stev O Saenchai was a savage , the fact that the guy he kicked was Kem Sitsongpeenong ( top 15 best fighters from the post-golden era ) and aftet ko him with a perfect sweep is just nasty ... Kem would later cut Saenchai with his elbow and clinch rape him in a rematch ( two wins for Saenchai and one for Kem ) .

The Golden Age, greatest collection of Muay Fighters in any decade! The only thing I have question on was Samson Isaan - most of the highlight film was him throwing haymakers and throwing guys down in the clinch. It seems like he would get beat easily by more technical fighters like the other Fighters of the Year. Maybe I am missing something?
@8limbedwarriornakmuay1756 жыл бұрын
Mike Smithson He was extremely tenacious and relentless . Kind of like today's Rodtung or the late great Porsanae both are fighter that most believe would get outclassed but yet they all are extremely dangerous , they may get schooled for 3-4 round but their gas tank is enough to pull a ko or outlast their opponents . Samson tactic is to lures his opponent into a brawl and ko them by being more resilient and tougher than them .

What happens to these guys 10 and 20 years later? Do their fighting injuries disable them today?
@joerogue2316 жыл бұрын
Floyd Maxwell No , for a number of reasons : simply put because the damage received is throughout the body not concentrate on the skull , their training is extremely intelligent and when they spare they only go all out in the clinch not for striking , speaking of striking they go all out only on the pad the bag is there only to perfect one's techniques and rhythm for each strike ( it's kind of rare to see a pro thai go 80 to 100 percent on the bag , most go between 20 to 50 , on the pad it's between 60 to 100 ) .
@FloydMaxwell6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info, Joe. Glad to hear they have such a smart approach.

Floyd Maxwell Did you know that Kaoponglek ( the fifth fighter in this video ) was Giorgio Petrosyan master ? Shocking right , the guy married an Italian woman and speak italian . He also was one of the few thai fighter ( Dieselnoi and Samart was one of them ) who was so dominant that no one wanted to fight him ( he posses 100 win by ko ) .

Petrosyan seems like a genius, who fights. Gentlely dismembering, slippery like an eel. Now I see the Muay Thai in him.

Let's talk FACTS 75%+ of Lao ethnic is in Thailand (22+ millions Thai Isan people), not in Laos country (~7 millions). 70%+ of Khmer empire became Thailand today, only its small part became today Cambodia. The Khmer is indisputably one of Thai's ancestry. When any of Thai cultures became globally famous, the Cambodians and Laotians just false-claim Thai's workmanships via their PROPAGANDA HISTORY decorated by their corrupted politicians who almost did nothing to develop their own countries, just steal Thai's workmanships. That the facts, guys.
