What can I say? Your alternative universe is scarily similar to mine - and yet different! 😄 I had tears of laughter watching 'Charley' in action! Now me, being me, I have to remain precise and yet polite, so to that end I can indeed answer some of the points you raised (I numbered 10 in total): 1. Jean Sibelius, the Finnish composer died (in my universe) in 1957. 2. Six feet equals 1.8288 (followed by 8 zeros and a 7) Meters. 3. Just like any musical instrument, the structural characteristics of a room will have a significant influence on the Sibelius, according to where it is positioned in the room. I liken this to a cello, there is always a sweet spot where a cello's sound becomes full, without being 'boomy' or muddy'. To this end the Sibelius loudspeaker is no different. However, the density of its extremely thick enclosure, allows it to perform even right up against a back wall. So 'yes' there is usually no need to bring it more than 2-4 feet into the room. Experimentation is the rule of the game here. As you discovered, with some patience, a very realistic, 3 dimensional soundstage and tonal depth and definition can be achieved. Well set up, they should remain detailed with bass notes easily going down to 36-38Hz. In one set up we measured 15Hz! 4. 'SG' stands for Silver Grey and 'CG' stands for Copper Gold. 5. Your demonstration of how to lift and move the Sibelius loudspeaker was marvellous. I would like to use it show our customers 🙂 6. Indeed, we find that in most rooms, having the Sibelius loudspeakers on their stands, improves bass definition, plus it protects them from being kicked, bashed by vacuum cleaners and damaged by minor floods (although they should float in extreme cases)! 7. As soon as we have a full production version of our 170 Tube amplifier, you will be the first to receive it for review (not sure quite when it will be yet). 8. The reason that some heavy rock does not sound as good as one might hope, I think, is because there is an amount of distortion that is captured in the recording that is usually not audible in most systems. This is one reason why, with the Sibelius, clear audible differences can be easily detected between amplifiers, and yes, even cables! The Sibelius simply reproduces the signal it is given. The strange thing is that they sound really good with Reggae, which might seem unlikely to some? So its not a bass issue (I think). Having said that, some bass heavy systems distract away some of the harshness that maybe the issue here. Great recorded rock like (Dire Straits for example, sounds fine to my ears). 9. The colour of your Sibelius loudspeakers is 'dark cherry'. But as each batch of oak and stain can vary, there can be visual differences between one pair and another. Each pair is unique, that's why we photograph every pair we make in great detail, so our customers can accurately see their loudspeakers before shipping. Current Cherry production, tends to be a bit redder. That's why you might see your pair as looking more like a medium oak. 10. Thank you very much for this very funny, informative and insightful video Loic. I am humbled by you, and the effort it must have taken to make it. It is much appreciated by me and the Pearl Acoustics team. Thank you! Best wishes from Belgium, which is in the heart of my universe. If you are ever travelling my way - you will be my guest of honour!

Well, being over 76, I can say I have seen all. While electronics, where never my trade, or skill, I once even was main distributor for Glenn Crofts products outside Britain. I have combined 2 x 100 Watts , 2x 50 Watts Luxman class A to several speakers. Went back to Audio innovation the first over 30 years ago 2 x 7 Watts. Just to end up after over many 300B's SE. with the Audio Note OTO SE. Which I use to drive my Transmission Lines 2 way cabinets (Designed by Keith Marshall) filled with the AN silver units, giving me over 95 DB sensitivity. The many times Audiophiles who heard the system begged me to sell them, as they never heard a better sound.......... I am objective, I don't have to live on any sale! My room is 36 x 15 ft. I never exceed 12 O Clock!

Ok a real question for either universe. Could you comment ( or make a comparison video) between this speaker and the Macario by Maco? These 2 speakers have risen to the top of my list for future purchase. I heard the Macario at Axpona but don’t have a way to listen to these, at least in my universe.

There is no way a speaker with a single driver is worth 8000€, and there is no valid reasoning behind this either. I don't care how good it sounds, the driver might cost around 300€ to produce, wood is cheap.. This speaker shouldn't cost more than maybe 1000€ to build so the price of 8000€ is outrageous and a scam.
