Sibelius - Symphony n°7 - Amsterdam / Ormandy live

Fist time I heard this symphony, I was in high school and Ormandy was conducting Philadelphia on a 331/3. I have never gotten over it. It was Sibelius' last major statement on the human condition. Thank God for art!

Wunderschöne live Aufführung dieser kompakten und nordischen Sinfonie mit perfekt kontrollierten Töne aller Instrumente. Der erfahrene Maestro dirigiert das ausgezeichnete Orchester im angemessenen Tempo mit angenehmer Dynamik ohne überflüssige Agogik. Das gefällt mir!

When, oh when will this legendary recording be issued on a single disc? It is regarded by many Sibelians as the finest version ever recorded...surpassing even Von Karajan's Philharmonia and Berlin accounts and Ormandy's own Philadelphia recording......... Please, please, please.

Dr. Stephanie Eccles This recording is exsisting not on a single disc,but in the box set series called"the Anthology of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra". Still easy available....
