Re: Making Pitches Constant - Drums: That plug-in creates notation for background figures or figures you want the drummer to be aware of, but he still has the option to not play them if he so chooses. It does not create the emphatic "Play This Figure!" notation like you'd use for a shout section figure. To create that type of notation, use the regular Make Pitches Constant plug-in and then change the notehead to type 4.

Custom key command for filtering chord symbols - I use Cntrl+Shft+K to Filter Chord Symbols so that I can select a range of bars, Cntrl+Shft+K, Cntrl+C and then paste to new location. Very quick and easy and saves having to sort through the Filter dialogue every time.

HI David, Please explain your steps of creating cool brackets... do we need to use Opus Text?
@adamecomp2 жыл бұрын
Yeah all I get are Parenthesis. New Version of Sibeilus...now the plug in is just called bracket text.

Great video David, thanks! I am learning Sib. and am about to start my first big-band chart. I struggle to follow your directions though as I am on PC.

I agree with all the praise! I spent a lot of time on some of your subjects (without figuring out how to do it) - thanks again, you are awesome!

Great stuff, David!!! I'm on a PC. One of my favorite short cuts is highlighting a part that you want to put some where else, hold down the Alt key and left click where you want it.

Instead of having the song number in the top left hand corner of each part, can you have it in the other side of page-1? So the printer would have to print on both sides of the first page.

Thank you for sharing. This will be very helpful to me. I'm trying to add repeat signs with a number on top for the drum solo section of a score. Can you tell me how I can do this? thank you
@brickhithouse16 жыл бұрын
Hey Nelson, If I'm understanding you correctly, I would probably use Boxed System Text to indicate how many times to repeat. Since it's system text, you only need to add it to the top staff but it will apear in each part.

Thanks for this David. What version of Sibelius are you using? I'm not able to find the Make Pitches constant Drums plug-in. Found the regular Make pitches constant, but not the one that creates layers and saves you a TON of time. Do I need to download it somewhere? I'm on v. 7.5. Thanks for your help
@brickhithouse16 жыл бұрын
Hey John, Thanks for saying hi. I'm using 8.5 now but was on 7.something when I made that video. I just did a quick search and found it. www.sibelius.com/download/plugins/index.html?plugin=320 In version 8.5 you can access and load all the plug-ins I mention right from the plug-in dialog page. For version 7 I think you may need to either install it or put it in a folder. I forgot the exact procedure but the info is out there.

Why is the Bari sax in bass clef
@brickhithouse16 жыл бұрын
That's how I like it when I'm arranging. In the finished (transposed) score/parts, it will be in treble clef and transposed. Some people do the same thing with the tenors too.
