Yep, the left. Indoctrination is still going on. At least here in the Netherlands. An example. SamSam. This used to be just a magazine full of indoctrination when I was a child. At 5:40 women is from Baltic states - Latvia, I know because I'm Latvian. I can confirm that a lot of people were sent to Siberia and those stories are horrible. Starting from animal wagons where people were stuffed in like animals, some of them died on the way and no-one cared about it, they were buried in shallow graves along railroad. Then arriving in Russia, party officials basically told the locals that those transported people are monsters, no-one wanted to talk with them let alone help. And the thing is as my grandfather told they had nothing there - there was no electricity, no roads, no nothing. And these people were ones which actually helped to build that infrastructure, because as example from Latvia many intelligent and just people with technical knowledge were sent there . If You are interested search about Gulags those stories is bone chilling. My grandfathers brother was sent to Vorkut where is coal mines and that job was backbreaking and noone cared if You can or can't work. If can't then You are done. One one particular case he was throwed naked in room where was no heating - and outside temperature were somewhere in range of -30 to -40 degrees celsius, he told that those which did not move just froze to death. He was doing every movements exercises he could think of just to generate heat in body, he survived, but had serious pneimonia afterwards.

Meanwhile, Stalin had sent quotas for each country with how many people from each need to be sent to Siberia. If you live in a family farm and have 6 cows - Siberia! They sent people, pregnant women in fully packed cattle train carts with little to no food, thousands didn't make this journey. And Russia never apologized or made amends about this, they say we wanted to join the USSR. That's how Russians "protect" the world from fascism.

I wholeheartedly believe courageous Siberians are going to write a new, happier chapter in that beautiful, harsh land which has suffered so much and has seen so much tragedy, cruelty, human suffering... My great great uncle was being detained in Siberia for years. When his wife was informed she can take him back she sold most of their possesions to be able to afford the travel. He was extremaly malnourished, sick. He never reached Poland. He died on the train. With the last bits of cash she bought a coffin. The despair and heartbreak that my great great aunt had to experience... she wouldn't speak much for the rest of her life.

A little correction. "GULAG" is the abbreviation, which stands for "The Government Camp Administration", which is pretty much the same as "The Ministry of Correction". The camps were camps, the administration of the camps, which was in Moscow and in regional capitols were the GULAG. So, nobody was "sent to gulags". That is misunderstanding that originated from the book named "Gulag Archipelago" written by one of the inmates of the time, comparing the system of camps to islands isolated from society by the wast spaces of Siberian woods.

The Russian government's indifference in treating Siberians despite Siberia's economic contributions to Russia is enough reason for Siberians to seek secession from Moscow, and because of its importance in Russia's economic stability the government remains deaf to their plight. If joining Ukraine in the war against Russia is the solution to attain independence, the move is fairly a good decision.

Instead he lived-out his years here in Eastern Canada. The world-view that he imparted leaves me a total supporter of Estonian independence from Russian dominance. I learned one Thing about Siberia due to a Schoolmate - their Food is "nothing special" if you want Food to be fineley Done, nuanced. But if you are like me and a Sucker for hearty, strong and rich Tastes, you definetly should look into it. Siberia is incredibly rich in culötural diversity, meaning there are a lot of Facettes to it and its People - ans the Food reflects that. They have adapted many other Styles from around, but especially the dishes using hunted Meats and Fish are awesome - it is a "Dig in"-Comfortfoods Style mostly. Their Shtik is to make great Meals from the simplest Recources - so it is mostly "cheap" to make. And in a free World, Siberia is DEFINETLY woth a Visit on Holiday if you are like me and prefer Mild Climates and a walk in the Woods (although... mind the Wildlife there beeing Wild) and such. Siberia could easily be a great Tourist Place because of its Nature if Russia wouldn't be such a Dick about it similar to other Counties like Uzbekistan and the likes.
