He was so scared that it seemed to take him forever to figure out it was you. But once he identified you, his attack on that head was hilarious! I don’t think he thought of it as a toy. It looked to me like he was trying to grab it with his teeth and drag it off your head because it did not belong there! Very funny video… thank you for the giggles.

I agree with your first sentence completely. It should not have taken a canine, in such obvious great physical condition, that long to figure this out. It must be completely aware of it's owners scent. As cute as this was after its discovery, the length of time it took to make that discovery is disturbing. I hope he is concerned enough to contact his veterinarian.

But, assuming his canine brain was earnestly try to figure the situation out, when his owner practically crawled right next to him, his sense of smell should have detected him among the masks scent and the excitement of the situation. As you say, he is young, but, I would have to believe that the scent of the person who plays with him, who feeds and waters him and who he may even wrestle and sleep with, should have had more meaning to him. I, of course, could be wrong. There is certainly no harm in talking to his veterinarian.

That was so funny! Last year I put on a mask in the bedroom while my Malinois were laying down chewing their toys and when they looked at me .... My word! They immediately came after me and were ready to ''take care of business" ... you have never seen a person rip a mask off faster than I did that day! "It's me! It's me!", I yelled. They were not amused. That was pretty scary but, I deserved it for doing it to them. This video was still funny, though 😄
