When I was younger my friends grandpa who was an alcoholic got cancer and tried to quit drinking cold turkey, but because his body was already so weak from the cancer the withdrawal killed him. Sorry about the sad story just thought I'd share this because they were right, withdrawing from drugs or alcohol is no joke. Love you Bob and Monét and love your podcast I listen all the time. ♡♡

Listening to Bob talk about drugs has made me realise how much he could be pulling the wool, when he's waxing lyrical on subjects I know less about. He's so convincing but definitely pulling together true fragments into a distorted whole. Methadone and methamphetamine are totally different, so is micro dosing and opiate replacement maintenance (on bang on he just told us to take it with a train of salt... So meh, maybe I responded to early). There is an amazing book about how incredible tucked up and racist the war on drugs was. For instance the only reason the term marijuana became popularised rather than the botanical cannabis was so we'd associate it with mexicans. Also parallels in detail the difference in policing between Billy Holiday who was constantly harassed till the day she died and Judy Garland who were both heroin addicts at the same time...

There's something called antibiotic resistance that happens once u stop taking ur antibiotics when u feel better and tht means the infection will become strong enough to fight off the antibiotics which will then no longer work to help treat all the invaders trying to attack ur immune system. Also fun fact hehe ur tonsils are a part of ur lymphatic/ immune system so they can be prone to getting swollen cause they may be trying to help fight off an infection Anyway I'm so happy i found this podcast I've been searching for a new podcast for so long.
