They don’t feel it like Monet and Bob because they won’t be as affected by the disparity inherent in the fandom. It’s not just about what they offer but the fact that the fans favor white queens by default. And it is what it is. Also, Rihanna doesn’t work as an example either because she is favored herself for doing the same thing as other black artists because of colorism and featurism. It’s discussed in-community, though.

Monet even said she was hesitant making this podcast but they worked at it. I really loved Bob's honesty in talking about her feelings of jealousy. I think we all feel that way at some point or another especially if we work hard. That being said, I hope Bob realizes that what she brings to the table is different to what others bring, but it still carries value. Bob, I seriously love you, but in the Race Chaser episode when you spoke on race, I could not have disagreed with you more. I’m Asian-American who is often confused as Latinx, but just because people think I’m that doesn’t make it so. I also speak Spanish and grew up around people from Mexico and Central America, but it doesn’t make me Latinx regardless of how much I associate with the culture or the people. The same can be said about Rachel Dolezal. At the end of the day, Rachel can slip back into her “whiteness” and escape the crap POC have to deal with on a daily basis. The fact that she thinks she can “choose” already speaks volumes on the privilege she has; actual brown and black people cannot simply choose to be white to escape racism.
