In Sicario: Day of the Soldado, the series begins a new chapter. In the drug war, there are no rules - and as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) calls on the mysterious Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), whose family was murdered by a cartel kingpin, to escalate the war in nefarious ways. Alejandro kidnaps the kingpin’s daughter to inflame the conflict - but when the girl is seen as collateral damage, her fate will come between the two men as they question everything they are fighting for.

From experience it usually almost fine for first hour or so if bones are not broken and you avoid touching or moving damaged parts too much. Then it gradually getting worse. And when you think it's not that bad and go to sleep and wake up next day... Yeah, then you start to really feel all pain.

But as the night wore on the pain became worse until I couldn't even sleep, so I drove myself with one hand to the hospital. I know that feeling. I didn't hurt my arm but rather almost drowned. I was mostly fine, until I sat down in the ambulance. Then the adrenaline wore off, I started shaking so hard it almost felt like I was having a seizure. Then my teeth started clacking like crazy. And then, for the cherry on top, the chuckle-sobs came on (if you don't know what that is, ask an ambulance crew, they've seen plenty of it). I must have looked and sounded like a lunatic.

I think a third film might work well with Blunt's character coming back in some capacity. I like how in the original she started out being curious about the mysterious 'Alejandro' and by the end of the movie she was kind of terrified of him, keeping a little distance (physical and emotional) from him. That 'standoffish' relationship never got resolved but really needs to be closed out IMO.

Day of the Soldado didn't do as well. Audiences were disappointed that Emily Blunt wasn't in it. But Blunt's character was a minor character. Telling the story through the eyes of a minor character was part of why the first movie was so powerful. But that character's story is finished. It was always about del Toro's character. Trying to bring Emily back in would mangle the plot and damage the movie. I would not want to see that.

People don't seem to understand that emotional pain and physical pain are relatively close. This man's wife and daughter were killed brutally. I'm sure that pain is comparable to being shot through the face People that I used to know would argue not, but the reality is that they don't know shit I'd say getting shot in the face is probably less net pain than your loved ones being brutally killed for no real reason other than the preservation of evil.
