An amazing idea: paint all the shelf liner things the colors to somewhat match the console. Love how the White is already done for Wii. If you did Red for switch/NES/SNES and then green for Xbox, and lime green for Xbox One/Series S/X and then blue for PlayStation and so on, and on. When I was in Miami there was a store that had each shelving unit colored to “match” the system and it looks tremendous. It’s the little things like that imo that really make a store stand out and all the effort it’d take really would make it worth it.(even tho yours already is the best!)

We honestly thought about that, but its a lot of work and extra time / money, but also we couldn't move stuff around then without repainting, and I'm sure stuff will end up moving around a lot until we find the best spots for everything

@@DoubleJumpVideoGames Oh I’m sure it’s definitely gonna require some funds and a lot of energy but trust me it’ll make things look so organized and nice instead every other game store with just plain same colored shelves. Yes, it’s definitely not a top priority type of thing at all - but maybe work on it slowly over time? Just my input, keep up the fantastic work!

Put some cool figures by the spot on the wall with no plans. Everyone lives to look at figures and a lot of people end up buying if displayed well! That black background would display them well!

Just throwing out an idea..Maybe you could store some of the duplicate Wii Games in the back and put the Gamecube games with the Wii Games or if there is just enough space as is. You have the end of that section for controllers/accessories too. Those systems are pretty compatible together.

It's not just the games, but also the accessories and controllers, and they wouldn't all fit together unfortunately

Being in the shipping business, all I can tell you is it sucks right now. Even here in the middle of the country, all of the docks are over capacity. Getting a same day freight pickup is getting difficult. Can’t imagine what it’s like on the coasts closer to the sea ports. See if UPS will let you pick up the glass cases from their dock. I’ve done it a few times

The store is coming along great! Have you considered putting the Nintendo, Sony, Xbox, Sega all in the same area? The Gamecube could've gone well right behind the Wii section.

Not sure what you mean about putting them all in the same area, and Gamecube needs to be fairly close to the register so we can keep an eye on it. Discs are so small, they can be easily stolen. Plus we barely have any Gamecube, so it cant fill a large section like that (neither can PS1, but hopefully it grows)

My opinion doesn't matter but you might want to make sure you don't have ps1 on one side of the store and ps2 on the other. Perhaps have PS 1-5 as close as possible same with Xbox and then all Nintendo in another. Like you come in main entrance and all Xbox and PS in the original store area then the new section has all Nintendo. I am not there and don't know all the logistics so just an observation. You don't want people wandering around looking the whole time. Good luck getting those shelves. UPS is the worst.

Having people look at different parts of the store isn't a bad thing, but its mainly about the space we have for the shelves. PS2 takes up that entire side, so maybe PS1 could go on the opposite side of that same shelf, and then PS3 and PS4, but Gamecube and Xbox One would also need to stay at least close to the register as those are the 3 systems people try to steal the most from. I like the idea of having it all together, but we may not have the room to do so

We have a bunch, we just typically try to sell them with the games, but we do have a stack in the back of the store we could put out. Not brand new ones, but there are some harder to find ones

uline isn't bad, I have done a lot of shopping around, but uline tends to be better for us because their warehouse is only like 2 hours north of us, so shipping is very fast and very cheap

Not sure. Luckily we only paid a portion of the actual construction / demolition costs. It was something like 25k for everything involved (taking down the walls, building the one wall with the door, doing electrical, hvac, sprinklers, permits, etc).
