Is this the same as the palace of the Duke of Orleans? My ancestors worked at the palace as a guard and his daughters did sewing for the family.

No Laura, the Palace where your ancestors worked stays in Palermo. Zuco stronghold instead is a very large farm and estate at 25 miles more or less from the headtown. Your relatives could have serve three possible landlords: Louis Philippe d'Orléans, or his son duke of Aumale, or the last heir cousin of the previous, himself duc d'Orléans.

@@Duciezio thanks for clarifying! I was always told their personal experience was with “the Duke of orleans”. It is so neat in your video that there was a barrel decoration on the fortress and I knew that this family was in the business of…was it bourbon? My family tells that the daughters spoke a pigeon version of French/Sicilian from spending so much time among the French. What is your connection to the family/area?

As I thought Laura, they worked for the last French in charge of the estate. It was no bourbon business (chuckle) The owner were Bourbons themselves, one of the most important dynasties ever in Europe. At Zuco they produced the finest Moscato wine and shipped it all over Europe for the various noble families they were in touch with. I'm in contact with the today owners, helping them to understand how important is the farm they have inherited, in an absolute state of decay. Unfortunately, very few survives today from the 19th century splendour.

@@LaSiciliaSvelata what business was it if not bourbon? I am losing your meaning.

@@laurabaker5179 as I wrote you it was wine, specifically Moscato.
