House music! and there are many types of house music, Try some french house or some tribal or some good deep house, all good. @2Boobie4 Reason a lot of people have no respect for jerkin (somewhat myself) is because a lot of jerkers try to compete againts other dances. Not sure how it is over where you live, but here in San Antonio, jerkers are extremely cocky & have a habbit of embarrasing themselves by trying to dance against breakers, krumpers, poppers & lockers. A lot of people don't see jerkin as a real dance & I have to agree. It hasn't evolved at all since it started. as I said, they're starting to steal moves.

Although, moves like those that were pioneered by the real hiphop dances sort of leak out & people take them & change them up a bit & call it their own. I've noticed today that jerkers are starting to do a lot of moves from breaking. More acrobatics to widen their variety, more grooves like the one you see in houseing that resembles the dougie. I'm not saying don't jerk, I'm just clearling stuff up.

@2Boobie4 Actually man, jerking has no roots. Only thing closest to jerking is the running man backwards & some people who randomly thought squeezing their legs together close to the groud was cool. Housing is a real hip hop dance that has fundementals, basics, groove, Real foot work & styles which takes years of practice. Jerking has no basics, no levels, no advanced moves, MAYBE style, but thats it. I can see where you would think jerking got it's foot work from, but it's not.

Bboying in the 80's was done to freestyle music and so was popping thanks to the media. but b-boys originally danced to funk, soul-funk . And its not breakdancing*, its bboying and the b in bboy stands for bronx ,beat , boogie , or break but never haver i herd Breaker***, because as far as i know i am no Mike Garcia (aka breaker). everybody wants to claim where the sound came from. house music originated from disco music which ppl felt needed a change. the term "house" music was derived from chicago, only because ppl thought it sounded cool yes...the name of it all came from chitown but the music itself didnt. djs like Frankie Knuckles and Kenny Dixon Jr are the root of the mixing, they are the ones best known for mixing the music. house has been known and recognized in more then chicago since the80'2but bmore and NJ also

Wow i love people who know nothing about hip hop. House came before B-Boying. It did come after disco, but it got its influences from Lindy era, African, Latin, Brazilian, jazz, tap, and even modern. Capoeira is another style that House incorporated, but thats the closes it came to B-Boying. B-Boying did kinda start in the 70's, but not from house and it was really made into a dance in the 80's by the Rock Steady Crew and other OG's.

It seems to me that this kind of dance-style is very popular although I haven't seen anything like this in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands we do listen to house but it's a lot more versitile than this kind of house. However I'm certainly interested in this kind of dance style, although it doesn't require any choreagrophy... And clowning/Krumping/Breakdance does in a certain extent.

what the hell r you talkin about??....b-boying was born in da boogie down bronx nyc,...in the 70's...when house rised at the end of the 80's with the ashes of the disco era.with house music mostly known n reckgnized in chicago, with its disco inspirations vibes n flows...new yorkers took over ....and create a variation of moves , that made house what it is right now...with crews , like dance fusion (nyc)

You're right, but it's not that we felt consciously that disco needed a change, it's just one of many directions it went. Even in the 80's Frankie and Ron were still playing disco... and so called "house" referred to home made tracks stripped down to minimal drum beats and bassline that local djs would ask them to debut. That part did start in Chicago.

look at the comments you wrote on sick house dancing. took me home a little bit because you used house in the bay around 88, 89 we started evolving out of our hammer stage. going to a clu b walnut creek called lipse to battle cats fron san jose who later became housing authority. later on in the years our favorite spot became "1 up" in the city (SF)

try searching for the history of house dancing. or basic house stepping videos here. from what i know (but im not an expert though), try to look the movements of the feet. if you're a tap dancer, house can be very easy for you. :) hope i helped.
