Even more impressive that he’s fighting an occasional cough (a bit of saliva down his windpipe, perhaps?), and doesn’t miss a bear. A true genius of comedy.

It's not saliva, he suffered from a nervous cough, you can hear him caugh in every sketch. It's so impressive how even the greatest comedians had psycological issues, but nothing stopped them!
