ANY TIME you take a weight bearing or semi weight bearing impression, you have totally compensated whatever correction is needed....Impressions have to be NON weight bearing with the subtalar in neutral position with the middorsal maximally pronated under the 5th met head
@podman19353 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim Not necessarily true but if you base on root method yes correct However the semi and weight bearing methods are good providing the STJ is in neutral position and maintained when foot is on the ground, as this will also load the mtj long and oblique axes ( have lectured bio for many years!)

Unless you palpate the MID RANGE position of the subtalar joints BEFORE an impressions is made, the weight bearing (even semi-weight bearing) has COMPENSATED out the correction you are trying to correct. The cart here is AFTER the horse

Yes, but I a problem. How do you choose the flexibility of the support? Too soft and it crushes... too hard and it's uncomfortable. I didn't see any calibration method. Proper shape requires calibration.
@timyatcak32923 жыл бұрын
I found that polypropylene or carbon graphite work the best as midrange flex should a patient want to run in a pair of them. One problem with the latter: it is very thin and flexible but it tends to breakdown near the heel area after about two years.

I don't see how this helps if you have flat feet. If you mold my flat feet, you get a flat mold. That does not help my situation. So I suppose this is only good if you have high arches only.

no you position the foot with a reestablished arch and then mold to it
@janicewelch5175 жыл бұрын
Right he could have made the shoe insert mold out of the first plate of inprints. Its shows precisely where she needs supports like in the arch. The second step of molded imprints just collapsed here arches. The mold looks flat with no arch support

High arches, usually a plantarflexed first ray or forefoot VALFUS, require opposite accommodation...He foot is relatively RIGID already so it is more a comenatory relationship between forefoot (midtaral and rearfoot) rather than subtalar and ground

I am a lecturer in podiatry, research using 3 dimensional gait analysis kit, kistler force plates, 30 plus years lecturing sports paediatric podiatry gait assessment and module leader in manufacturing of orthoses using Cad Cam plaster of Paris slipper cast and foam impression methods. Have run private podiatry clinic for over 30 years . Just depends on what the patient presents and experience of the clinician! Back in the day shoes were made with arch supports. Now there made for flat feet. Are feet are not flat to start with, the longer you wear these shoes with no arch support ypur feet flattens and ypu have lots of health issues. Our feet were not meant to be flat. They make shoes without arch supports so they can make a business out of selling these inserts and making moldings of your feet.

MALARKEY pure and simple....Arches DON"T FALL. Once the foot is mature that is the way the anatomy and function remain the rest of your days unless diseases like the arthritis intervenes. You my dear are ignorant of biomechanics and live, LIKE MANY TODAY, in a dream world of their creation. Athletic shoes of today are some of he best physiological mechanism's walking has ever seen
