Hi Axel. I'm sorry to hear you're having audio issues. I haven't experienced this issue. Just did a live broadcast yesterday with no issues. You might consider double checking the setting you specified when launching Zoom (and the ones your guest choose). Also, I do a test run with my guests using a private/green room facebook group just to test audio before the event. I hope that helps.

Great video, Megan. Think I had the same issue as Axel iLaurea. Interviewed using Zoom, thru OBS into FB Live. It gets my audio perfectly. Gets the interviewees video but no audio. Any guidance would be appreciated. I tried with skype - had the same issue. Is there a setting within OBS that sends voice and video thru from skype/zoom? Thanks in advance for any tips.

Nic Jain I wish I could provide more guidance. I usually have my guests on for a pre-show tech check. I have a "green room" FB group I use to test things out before the day of the go-live. When I've had audio issues, it is because the guest had their mic muted. Out of curiosity, can you hear the guest?

Thanks for the the instruction but would have liked to see how you invite your guest and what that person needs to do to join the fb live.
@viewer8444 жыл бұрын
Simple Option Strategies adding other people really has nothing to do with Facebook live; that’s all in the Zoom side, and to some extent OBS. You would share your Zoom meeting ID with someone by inviting them to the Zoom meeting. If your scene in OBS is the whole window capture, they’d just show up next to you - your screen would split and you’d be side by side. If, however, you set your scene in OBS to just capture the smaller portion of the window where you would be in the side by side view, only you would show up on screen. You could actually set up multiple scenes looking at the same window capture: one of the whole screen, one with just you from the side by side view, and one of your interviewee in the other side by side view. You could set up yet another of your picture, but zoomed in if you want to get a close up. It goes on and on. I hope that helps.
@squierplayer4 жыл бұрын
All of the work is on the host’s side. The guest literally just has to accept the invitation to the Zoom meeting. Nothing else is needed on their end.

Be Happy Naturally I use a PC. It is strange that it isn't showing up. Did you select the window with the active meeting ID? I do know that getting the settings right in OBS can be quite challenging. No, you only need the free version. However remember that the free version is limited to 40 minute meeting length if you have more than 2 people. This time limit doesn't apply if you only having a web meeting with 1 other person. Hope that helps.

The FEoNA Company Hope you were able to get this resolved. I’ve only used the headphone/mic jack not USB for audio. You might check your computer audio settings and make sure you’ve got the right one specified. The audio settings in OBS are tricky. I’ve kept it simple for that reason.

rubens lara Hi Lara. I'd recommend setting up a separate scene in OBS and using a hotkey to switch between Zoom and window capture/display capture. This is the tool/process I use every week. It works perfect for me. I like to have a guest interview style live event but don't want to pay for BeLive.TV. Thanks for the comment.

@@MeganBoitano Hey, I think what he's saying is, we're watching your live to see the full process. I know how to use OBS already. The part I don't know is how to pull the other person into the video using Zoom. I think the title suggests that you're going to show that part, but you don't.
@MeganBoitano6 жыл бұрын
Myka AKA Butta I appreciate the comment, but there is no “pull the other person in.” When using Zoom, it’s a web meeting. You setup OBS to broadcast your Zoom window. When someone (or 50 people) join your web meeting, it is broadcast. It isn’t possible for me to show as I’m actively recording the tutorial to post on KZbin. The webcam can only be used by one application at a time. I do this process 2x/month for my live-streaming show on FB. Works like a charm. This video is intended to offer some insight. I watched SO MANY videos trying to figure it out. This one offers my insight.

Hey @jerry peters - She explains it around the 2.04min mark... that when you send the zoom link and invite someone on to the broadcast they will appear on a window next to you.. and you can actually change the size of the windows etc in zoom :)

Thanks for the help! I'm curious on how the audio from the guest on Zoom carries through to OBS then to Facebook live. How is their voice captured to the stream? Does OBS pick up the audio that is picked up on that window you added to that scene? If so, do I mute my input audio from my mic on OBS and keep it enabled on Zoom? Does my question make sense? Thanks for the video though! That helped. Thumbs up!
@MeganBoitano6 жыл бұрын
There are number of audio settings in OBS. I'm not exactly sure of the technical way it happens. However, I have read that when streaming to FB via OBS, it broadcasts track 1. There are other tracks available. I haven't made any changes to the audio/sound settings since installing OBS. Both my audio and that of my guest is streamed to FB. I use a PC. Sorry I can't give more details. I'm still an amateur OBS user. There are other people that use it in more advanced ways.

No, OBS doesn’t automatically pick it up. You need a piece of software that can capture sound from applications. Sound flower and Blackhole or free examples, AudioHiJack is a paid example.
