In my utmost humble opinion. “ It is the units that complete the whole” He is spot on when it comes to breaking down the techniques, and most importantly the focus on the intricacies that actually enables one to apply the technique in an applicable no- nonsense way. 😀👍🏻 So many negate the importance of the two most important factors to make the sidekick( or any kick) for that matter functional, and that is the chamber and pivot. Thence, comes the alignment of the body, and from there comes positioning/Timing in concordance with set ups/ follow ups. This, he defines perfectly at the end when he explains the intricacies between the square on/ side stance, which the first (in turn) relies increasingly more upon correct set ups/ positioning/ placement of heel/ body alignment as to not shout from the rooftops( sort of speak) to one’s opponent in regards to what is coming lol.. In my school we fight from a square on position, and we do exactly the same, hiding the spins with transitions from different strikes into side stances so as one is able to utilize said techniques without risking too much( standing side on )As eating a double leg, or a hard shin roundhouse to the back of the leg is never fun lol.🤪 Yet again another phenomenal tutorial as always, and brings to mind the Chinese proverb: “ Nothing more rewarding than getting ones thesis validated, by those who exceeds oneself in excellence” Sincere regards fellow martial brother Tom Framnes. The chamber you were using if for round kicks, not side kicks. Or am I mistaken?

The kick he throws is incorrect. No big leg muscle involved. It's all small knee muscles just to score a point. You wanna do damage, gotta chamber that kick off the opposite shoulder by gathering up like a ball with your upperbody crunched. You should be breaking things with it not scoring points. Also, gotta land with the heel and not the side of the foot as it's too fragile.
