Sideload Apps on Xreal Beam *Jailbreak*

Hello guys, this video might not apply for everyone but hope it helps you for now. For cable use case, the tutorial part will remain the same. It's just the initial requirement is different.
I read the tutorial before and didn't stick all the way with it, so found my own way around it. Not recommend but please do it at your own risk.
The native beam 3DOF will be disabled if you use third-party apps. The version I worked on is V1.2.0 (latest update by date). It is not perfect but at least you unlock more power :)
This is the Reddit that I read from and the tutorial they had is done via cable for both keyboard and mouse. For that, all required hardware is included in the Reddit below:

hello i am the creator of the original jailbrake guide, as of the most resent update for the beam now allows you to use the space screen modes on sideloaded apps, control modes between dpad and pink courser. once you get your apps installed you can go to the settings and pick per app how the beam will treat it.

I believe it was locked intentionally,so it can become a closed system just like the company wants it to be.They want total control of their propriety device,made by them and just want you to adhere,what software was provided to you and you can't grumble.🤭🤭 Power users always find ways to break free from restrictions,one after another,just matter of effort and time. Just glad,users managed to find ways break free and freedom to choose what's best for them.

My two cents: 1. The whole branch of creating guest account steps can be skipped. Just try to push the red button to switch mode to body anchor, then the gear button can navigate you to the settings. 2. To open the browser, Win+B is the faster way.

I've been trying to get the XBOX apps working on Beam with a controller for days, any suggestions or ideas? I managed to get the xbox app and xbox beta but the xbox app will allow you to connect a controller to the Beam and even show my xbox remotely but doesnt read controller input and the beta app says you need googles services to use a controller which according to the beam device isn't supported. I just dont get why it works flawlessly with steam but doesn't work for xbox remote play....

Unfortunately, it won't work. I haven't able to find a way to get those features working.

Same here. Did you ever get it to expand beyond 139? I hear it can be expanded to 330 in but like you I can only get to 139 at the maximum

Without navigation support and keyboard on the beam this is a super clunky solution. I tried it for a minute and then got rid of it. Xreal needs to step up and deliver apps as promised. Without it no matter what it is a mess of cables, devices, etc..

I have done everything in your video and everything works great I see some people say stuff doesn't work for some reason I only needed to use the Bluetooth keyboard ones I use the beam like a air Mouse the keyboard pops up on screen everything just works I have installed 12 apps on it so far ❤👍💯🤴

I have done everything you said and it works Awesome but this is not a jailbreak; it is more of a workaround, thank you for this I was looking for a way to add the apps on my Xreal Beal, plus I have added my XBOX app to the Beam and it works real good.

Yea it is just a work around of sideloading, not actually jailbreak but people on internet some how call it jailbreak. Anyway, glad it works for you!

Hi @robertschneider8024, you can connect hdmi to type c cable between your beam and monitor/tv (1080p or 1440p). 4k monitor/tv i haven't test so don't know if it is working. But I think you can probably do the sideloading process directly on the glasses. I just relised that it is not necessary to plug extra device.

The beam itself doesn't have google service for now. You will probably need to browse for a way to enable all google services.
