The only boat I have ever sailed is a 44ft long yacht (apart from a pedal boat or kayak). I have never started it or reversed, but I have sailed it in a huge downpour with decent swells. Where I live, we have a charity that takes young people with cancer or in recovery away on a 4/5 day sailing trip to help connect with other young people with similar experiences with cancer. I had cancer at 16 and went on my first sailing trip at 17/18 and went 3 times in total. It was such a great experience and we actually got signed off in our 'Yacht Master' record books to prove we can sail it. Also got other things ticked off, like raising the sail, different knots, etc. Was a really great experience and met some lovely people.

Live about 10 mins away from a canal and while everyone says there dirty and riddled with disease, its really not , its mostly just muddy because there relatively shallow and the boats kick up mud
