totally love the dynamic pose of this batgirl. the modern version does make the statue pop, the golden colour does bring out all the details. I would prefer the modern version hands down

I have the original exclusive edition and I still feel that is the best version. Since it is based of the artwork from Alex Garner it looks "correct" according to that. I would much rather have a different Batgirl instead of a slight color variant of an existing piece. The modern version does not look bad but I would also much rather they go full on the Derrick Chew way (www.sideshow.com/collectibles/dc-comics-batgirl-32-sideshow-collectibles-500883U?var=500883FAL) when choosing that color scheme. You want a yellow batsign on the chest if you have the original and you want a yellow cape on the modern one if you have that. Apart from that the lower number on the modern might be a reason for that if you are thinking resell value. Either way I'm keeping my original but what I really would like though is a Cassandra Cain Batgirl. That needs to be made!!!

I was very fortunate to pick up the Modern Batgirl this week and she's fantastic. But you will get a pretty penny for the classic one. Lots of collectors wouldn't mind adding her to their collection. Thanks for the Comparison.

Hey Eric you know which one won? You did for having both of the variount of this great looking Batgirl statue. No matter which one you have it still is a beautifully made sculpt that depicts the character very well. Thank you for giving us this demonstration and comparison video. Good Review. You know I'm looking at this and I'm thinking that I may have slept on this premium format. I have the OG and I was content with it. I think the smiling portrait threw me off. But now looking at your review I'm having 2nd thoughts.

I hate to say it, but this feels like a money grab to me. These statues look way too similar to justify the time and expense it took to make the second one. If SS was bit by the "Batgirl" bug, then they should have come out with a completely different version. Maybe a Yvonne Craig 1966 style Batgirl. I realize Tweeterhead did one a few years ago, but SS could have done their own version. Just my opinion. Great review Eric.

Both are pretty ugly and I would have rather had a FIRST Nightwing than a second Huntress, third Batgirl (if you include the money-grab variant), second Poison Ivy, etc. Red Hood and Nightwing seem like slam dunks--yet, nothing.

Agree especially about Red Hood. 2nd Huntress or third Batgirl is good mostly for people who didn't bought the first ones (or missed them). Already having 1 Batgirl or 1 Huntress wouIdn't make me buy a 2nd one.
