love the Canale sculpt! totally agree with your disappointed reaction though, unfortunately. I agree that the slightly cartoonish style is meant to evoke Jack Kirby's style and it does that well. Canale is a master at referencing comic book artist styles (such as in the Cable and Joker pf's). All the more reason it's a shame Sideshow cut corners with the factory production quality.

to be honest though, it would be fairly easy to improve this piece with intermediate painting skills and no airbrush. redoing their crappy wash in the cracks and drybrushing on the raised highlights would get this piece to an acceptable level I reckon.

I also reviewed this statue and had some issues. The teeth being grey was my biggest problem. Also the orange paint on the base looks splattered on.

Is your belt half grey and half dark grey? Because on the production pictures , it's just one shade of grey.

I feel your pain mate. Awesome sculpt but a big miss with the factory paint job compared with the prototype. Exclusive head is definitely the better of the two.

My No 1 issue with the piece I put on Canale and that’s that the toro is way over done for Darkseid. He should not have this skin tight chiseled look in the toro - very strange IMO. I could live with the rest 🤷🏻‍♂️ Thanks for the video post 👍

I sold my original Darkseid as well, sculpt is great on this one but I ended up going custom and I wasnt a fan of the head sculpts and paint

I like this version WAY better than the previous one. How does the glowing hand look in person? Some collectors thought it looked as if Darkseid put his hand in a bowl of Cheetos. 😆 Still looks good to me though.

Bro in your videos you nitpick over the littlest things. Am I a fan of this? No, I prefer the XM. The paint job is NOT really bad as you say. It looks decent. But I have watched your videos and you will say something is really bad but will keep it. I respect your opinion but would never go by your reviews cause your hot and cold. But congrats to your purchase.

This statue is awesome. The nitpick is crazy not going to lie 😂. SS has improved dramatically from past statues with sculpt/paint. You can just see the difference between the old DARKSEID PF which I’m glad I didn’t purchase. This DARKSEID is perfect IMO, I always wanted a DARKSEID that looks like the Superman animated series. This is it. I get mines tomorrow to add to my collection.

@@ramtruth3 the sculpt is amazing but the paint is too thick, it loses some of the details and it's dark but the proportion is great.
