Thanx for 0the review. On my stickly off road KTM 300 I love my Tech 7's. Now I am considering these for my new adventure bike as I will not be hardcore offroad riding just sand, gravel, the odd trail and a lot of pavement.

2 months later: I'm back, watching again. The first 25 seconds I hear that Sidi squeek! My Sidi ADV 2 boots arrived today. Wore them in the bathtub for 1/2 hour - NO LEAKS. Tomorrow going for a road ride in the rain to test out the boots & some other new gear for my 2022 trip. Curious if you ever let the 'outside plastic part of the TOP buckle' dive under the 'inside part of the material' when you snap in? (At 4:47 I see you lift it over) It seems that if you let the plastic go where it wants to go, it will put pressure on the waterproof liner, causing eventual failure of the gortex. You put out some good vids - Thank you!

@@JohnTYoung I have a 7.5 - 8, wide, high instep and the fit was better than most street shoes I'm able to acquire. They were comfortable out of the box and now have three years of extreme use. In regards to comments, yes I stay in hotels/motels when overnighting, so it’s easy to move my bags and gear into room for safe storage. At 68 years of age, my lower back is a mess and after riding need some comfort. Another option are the Forma Adventure boots. They are lighter, waterproof, provide protection for off-road conditions, and I walked in them right out off the box. If riding rallies, enduros, or aggressively; the Alpinestars Tech 7 is my recommendation. A broken ankle or foot bone is not my idea of fun.

I run the Gaerne adventure boot and also have the Gaerne Balance oiled boot. Love both of them but wanted more protection so I bought the Gaerne SG12's, great boot but they wouldn't work with my Stegz Pegz. The rear spine of the boot stuck out to far and I couldn't adjust my Stegz rubbers back far enough, I was always riding on the arch of my foot and that wasn't acceptable and there was no way I was getting rid of the Stegz, absolutely love them. Might look at the Toucans, although the last pair of Alpines I had I totally hated, but that was 16 years ago.

I do not use a scooter in rain and snowy weather. In rainless, hot or cold weather. But I use it especially between May and September. In my country, the temperature between May and September is between 25 and 40 degrees. Do you think summer heat will be a problem with this boot? Is it a problem to have it on my feet in winter or cold months? Will it be a problem for the scooter? What is the difference between suede and leather models? Is the leather model safer and warmer? As much as I’m not a revit fan and I think many of their products are overpriced or under perform compared to the competition the expedition gtx boot seems to tick the most boxes. They are really protective really waterproof and comfortable to wear and walk in. I have the Sidi adv2 and the dainese fulcrum gtx boots right now but I’m looking for a more protective pair. Tech7 would be great if they were waterproof but even the dry star ones leak water. I will use them for many weeks adv trips so if they get wet it gets complicated. Sidi adv gtx never ever leaked water. And last I wanted to mention that the revit boots right now are on sale in Europe for 500€ so not so big difference between them and the tech7 drystar.

Just to add: For me the Sidi Adventure and the Gaerne look protection wise very much the same, seemingly a bit more ankle protection with the Sidi. I had a look at the Revit you mentioned. With them I would be more worried about ankle protection as with the Sidi or the Gaerne, as the Revit don't seem to offer much stiffness for protection against ankle twisting.
