The best motorcycle touring boots Sidi Adventure 2. After I used the boots for more than a month in all types of weather I believe that now I am ready to make a detailed review. The model is not really new and already very well known, but with Sidi Adventure 2 the company mad some really good changes.
Now the gortex membrane is almost 3 Inches higher and the material of the boots is microfiber.
My opinion is that these are the best motorcycle touring boots which we can find on the market today.

Hi, the books look great but on some long motorways runs, do you produce Podcasts? Just a thought to listen to your books whilst on long runs rather than music as I often listen to.

I've had a pair of Sidi boots since 08. About 80,000 miles of riding on that pair and just bought a new set late last year. Sidi used to make the legendary Aerostitch combat touring boots, good stuff indeed!

These are great boots for typical adventure riding, I did a lot of research on what’s available, but for some reason they are very expensive here in Australia, about $560 AUD for the full black and $470 AUD for the black and brown ( this colour not selling ). Yes our exchange rate is now not good against the USD or Euro. Now about 70 cents US = $1 AUD. This is great for you Pavlin, coming to Australia soon! Your costs will be more reasonable. Keep winning!

I'm an Australian postie who has only ever worn basic leather road boots before, and they offered no protection from cold, wet, or impact. I bought a pair of Adventure 2 boots yesterday. They are not cheap boots at $649 AUD, but are widely considered to be the best heavy-duty touring boots available. The lack of a zipper makes them easier by far to pull on and the adjustable buckles are part of the boot's rigid protection system. These boots will keep my feet and lower leg comfortable dry, warm, and very well protected without reducing my ability to walk when dismounted. I doubt that I'll ever twist my ankle on uneven surfaces wearing these beauties.

As always I enjoy your videos, most interesting and informative. I too own a pair of SIDI Adventure Gore-Tex boots. Had them for over two years now.. As a side note, in the case of motorcycle gear I do not believe that the time owned is as important as time used. I have ridden well over 60,000 Km since purchasing these boots, I use them almost every day. Others who would have them for the same period of time may only have ridden 10,000 Km or less. A point that I would like to stress is the warrantee on the above boot. SIDI gives a 12 mouth warrantee, repair or replace. Gore-Tex gives a lifetime warrantee on there products. One would think that if your boots started to leak after 18 mouths of use they would under the warrantee be repaired or replaced. Not so going by the importer of SIDI. 12 mouths is all that they give you.Which begs the question..... Why bother to spend the extra cash to buy Gore-Tex when you can go out and purchase a pair of boots from the say manufacturer with a waterproof, breathable liner for hundreds of dollars less and will last as long as the more expensive ones. For the record, my boots are well looked after. I wish I could attach a photograph to show the condition of them. Just one more thing, it’s along the same line. Gore-Tex gloves. I usually we’re out the leather on the fingers long before the liners go. Leather with Hydrepel is just as effective and way less expensive. Just something to consider. Cheers :-))
@spikeymikey8487
@spikeymikey8487 5 жыл бұрын
I’m not for one minute saying that Gore-Tex isn’t one of the best waterproof fabrics out there. I’m simply saying that for boots and gloves in particular is it worth paying the extra cost if the product only last one to two years before needing replacement. (Remembering that a large portion of the Gore-Tex cost goes towards the warranty). I have KLIM Badlands Pro, pants and jacket. They have a ten year replacement warranty. I have no problem paying the huge price for them. This is just my opinion which I was happy to share with you all. Ill say it again “Something to consider “ Cheers.....

I bought a pair of Sidi adventure boots almost 3 years ago and they were $650 Australian dollars, bloody expensive. They worked great, very comfortable, waterproof and just great boots, then after 10 months they started leaking. Took them back to where I purchased them, they contacted the importer to see about a return under warranty and the importer was not interested, they said it was a wear issue, so I have been landed with an expensive pair of boots that are no good anymore. Not very happy about the back up service with the boots, so no more Sidi boots for me. I have owned some Forma boots and when they leaked the importer sent me a new pair no problem. I much prefer it when a manufacturer backs there product.

Can confirm these boots are great, but be prepared, they need some time to be 'broken in' before they are comfortable to wear. The only thing I'am not satisfied with is that the joint creaks terrible when walking. Hoped after some usage that the noise will cease, but it keeps on. Unsure what stuff to use that could cure the noise. Afraid of using stuff that could damage the water resistance and material. Candle wax might be worth trying.

Pavlin , u are absolutely correct on these SIDI boots. I however prefer the feel of leather so when they first came out, years and years ago, I bought the Italian made Gaerne adventure boots which have almost the exact same specs, w/o the plastic. Say what you will, but once broken in, leather is simply more comfortable (to me anyway). I have literally tens of thousands of miles on these boots now, they look the same as when they were new, (tho they were a LOT less expensive in those days:). The hinge, the higher throat, the sole, the soft material at the back of the ankle, the similarities in design are simply striking, including an italian version of 'waterproof ' material (works :) and the fit on my feet (11) could not be better. One detail the Gaerne's have that the SIDI's don't is a specially made material on the side facing the engine cases that feels something like suede and serves to give you secure (and temp insulated) contact with the engine cases while riding "vigorously:) The Plastic boots slide around a bit. One piece of advice for you riders out there, if you are headed into rain lol. Waterproofing works both ways!!! so if you (like me) normally tuck your riding pants INTO your boots, do NOT (hey, i was tired and was surprised at the pop up storm) forget to run your pant legs OUTSIDE the boot:) I was surprised by a sudden dangerous thunder/lightning storm in the mountains and had to get out of there QUICK, so by the time I got off the mountain, my boots were like aquariums. FULL of water which was sloshing around inside when I finally made my way into the hotel for the night:) The staff was, shall we say, HIGHLY AMUSED :)

I have the first edition, love them! Just as Pavlin says, great protection, great comfort. I've dropped my GS on my leg and that front protection definitely softened the blow ( got away with a a black bruise on the shin). 2 complaints though, they squeak! like ducklings in a pond! people will look at you :) add silicone spray to solve this. And that they are black and hot, touring in southern Europe they are really really hot. But, if I lost ones I have now or something like that, I'd buy Sidi Adventure again, immediately. And thank you Pavlin for an honest non-sponsored review, mc-world needs more of that.

Hi Pavlin, it seems, that this boots are great and maybe the perfect compromise . I agree. But i generally don´t like boots and clothing made complete from plastic. I still prefer at least some parts of leather and i am sure, it is better for the climatic and health of the foots. Further on tough MX-boots are almost unbreakable and therefore the best protection for the foots and legs. Okay, they are not so comfortable; but i use them for biking, not for hiking. Ride safe, Hans

I have fat legs for some reason and I'm having a really hard time finding motorcycle boots that I can close the top buckle or Velcro on. My calves measure 19.5" (49.5 cm) in circumference . Do you think these boots will accommodate my fat legs?

Hello, I am using Vespa gts. I want to buy this boat. Because it will protect my shins in case of an accident. Did I get right? In which season can I wear it? I do not use a scooter in rain and snowy weather. In rainless, hot or cold weather. But I use it especially between May and September. In my country, the temperature between May and September is between 25 and 40 degrees. Do you think summer heat will be a problem with this boot? Is it a problem to have it on my feet in winter or cold months? Will it be a problem for the scooter? What is the difference between suede and leather models? Is the leather model safer and warmer? Thanks

@@motorcycleadventures well sure but smell is coming from the bacteria processing stuff (sweat in this case) and multiplying at the same time. Leather and the tannins used in it's manufacturing do have some antibacterial properties, preventing bacteria from running amuck while synthetic fibers, unless specifically treated as such kind of do the opposite and end up stinking. But I know this from experience, not just scientifically mumbo jumbo, that's why I asked. Also, I do remember vaguely at some point that your friend Dima made you put the boots outside in one of the trips :)))) so I don't think you mind the smell aspect very much. Anyhoo I found another boot model, the Gaerne Dakar boots, very similar in price and specs as the sidi adventure 2 and they are full leather.
@motorcycleadventures
@motorcycleadventures 8 ай бұрын
The boots that smell, during the trip with Dima, were from leather. Sidi is from Gore-tex, breathable material. If you carry about them they will never stink.

Pavlin what do you think about xtz 750 Tenere? I was thinking it is probably best idea for first bike to buy older one for learning and some smaller trips. To me it seems like a really good bike, maybe little too good for beginner, but I think its the best way to learn. If you tried it how does it seems for taller people, Im even taller than you? Thanks
@motorcycleadventures
@motorcycleadventures 5 жыл бұрын
XTZ 750 is very old and very heavy machine. Also the suspension is soft and the seat is not that high. The engine use a lot of petrol, minimum 7/100km around the city. I will suggest to buy something newer and not so heavy or you will convert your trips to a regular mechanical problems and difficult handling.

I used to have the previous model but I replaced them with RST Adventure II for (about 1/3 to 1/2 the price) plus they have more leather and CE certified Level 2. You didn't mention any CE certification and level for the SIDI's. So how safe are they? (in CE terms)
@motorcycleadventures
@motorcycleadventures 5 жыл бұрын
All the certificates are sand in the client eyes. The test they made are I will say - convenient for those who paid it. As I said in the video Gortex is the best and will always be. Any other waterproof membranes are not exactly what you expect. Yes, I do believe that Sidi Adventure are the best motorcycle boots in the terms of safety, comfort and functionality on the market today.

You can go online and see the CE process. A CE rating means toe, heel, and ankle reinforcement, a stiff non slip sole, secured laces or no laces, etc. Some very good boots are not certified since it is not required in many places other than Europe.

Well .... the synthetic leather don't get well with dirty, scruffs and cuts. In my opinion this shoe is okay for normal riding, dirt tracks but never off road in long terms. Like alll MX-Boots they are sustainable against mud, but not to Water on a long ride. i prefer another brand, which is really heavy duty and good for adventure riding.
