Finally! This man has a case for best guard/perimeter lockdown defender ever, and with that said he was also a great offensive player, one of the best rebounding guards, tough as nails, came up big in crunch time... At one point, Sidney was definitely the best SG in the league (only injuries slowed him down), before Jordan - whom Sid really showed the ropes to - came around and started his prime...

The player because of whom The Defensive Player of the Year was created! And still he is grossly underrated! He should have been named into the HOF way earlier but better later than never I guess! For those who don't know what Moncrief was all about during his prime: Moncrief could score 22 points per game with 52 % shooting, get 6 rebounds, give 5 assist and win back to back DPOY titles. That's prime HOF level Moncrief for you!

Should have been in the Top 75, should be Top 100 when the time comes. It's sad that some players that starred in the 70s-80s like Sidney Moncrief get brushed aside when talking about those who deserve it. He was best lockdown defensive SG before MJ.

he was also an excellent offensive player. Anyone who never got to see him play you sure did miss out. By the way, the best defensive player of this era was Michael Cooper. Just ask Larry Bird.
