Hey, so if I was to use a picture for a KZbin video thumbnail where would I cite it? In the bio? If so is that for every single picture used if it’s copyright free?

How can you legally make and sell art print collages on Etsy of vintage images in public domain? By the nature of art, you can't be writing citations over the canvas surely...

question why do i have to attribute a image if it is creative commons second let's say i was trying to make a youtube video where do i attribute that image do i do it in the description. and if so do i really have to attribute every single image that i used in the video im probaly over thinking this but i don't want to flood my video description with attributed images.
@SiebertScience3 жыл бұрын
For Creative Commons images, it's still someone else's intellectual property. They've just said that anyone can use it as long as they cite the original creator. It's sort of just giving credit where it's due. Yeah, for videos, citing it in the description makes the most sense to me. I attribute every image, but not everyone does. For the most part, it doesn't matter too much unless the owner of the image (or someone else) finds you video and reports it. Then KZbin may ask you to take it down if you don't have permission or have you cite it if it's Creative Commons. If you're a small KZbinr, probably nobody's going to say anything.

Hi! Your video is amazing but I have a question. In your description, you have written that the attribution is for the "bear image". So if I need to use many pictures from Wikimedia commons in my youtube video, can i simply write "ATTRIBUTIONS:" and then just paste all the attributions?
@SiebertScience Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think that would be totally fine.

Hello. I use your video in a teacher training I facilitate. You don't have captions so I'm using my captioning service to create a transcript. Would you like a copy to add to your video?
@SiebertScience2 жыл бұрын
Sure! That would be great.

@@SiebertScience great! It's being processed now and should be available on Monday. I have a video on how to upload your captions to KZbin, which will be time-coded to match your video. Can I get your email address to forward it?

And what happens if I add a lot of images to my KZbin video? should I give credit to all of them?
@SiebertScience4 жыл бұрын
I think that's the best practice. At least, provide the links.

@@SiebertScience It's weird because I never see youtubers giving credit for the images used in their videos
@SiebertScience3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've noticed that too on a lot of channels. Copyright laws are complicated. Here are a couple things that I think are true (but I'm not at all an expert or anything): 1. If a KZbinr is getting all their images from a paid stock image service, then often they aren't required to cite every image, as specified as part of their subscription to that stock image company. 2. Ultimately, there is no consequence to not citing an image unless the author of the image raises a concern about it. Some will...like if I used an image from a textbook company and they saw it, they'd tell me to take the video down.

I see that you have put in your description both the "Attribution that you copied" + "URL to that image". Isn't attribution required only? Like the Credit + link to the license? Why provide a link to the image?
@SiebertScience11 ай бұрын
Yeah, the attribution is probably sufficient. But I figure it can't hurt to provide the link too.
