I think the reason Lionizer's sword is over his back is because it had a gun barrel in it. Also makes it easier to pop off so other battlemasters can hold it in their hands IIRC, since it has that extra handle and can pop off. Also makes a nice homage to Bladewolf from Metal Gear Rising

Lionizer is a actionmaster partner for Rad. And you can put him in a gun mode of sorts like the g1 version. I got both molds of him and switched their legs to look more g1.

I've done the same thing, and now instead of 2 Lionizers I have an accurate Lionizer and a Catgut figure.

I love pairing lionized with legends class figures. In lion mode it’s like they have a dog, and then when they need a weapon(which they don’t always come with) BAM! Now you have a buster sword. I personally pair him up with POTP Slash. Now I’m thinking I should get a pair of Smashdowns for my custom Rack’n’Ruin made of a Cog and Sixgun.

The way they did Rung as well as Hasbro slowly giving us more of the Scavengers from MtMtE had me really hoping they would give Fulcrum the same treatment, releasing him as a Battlemaster that would turn into a warhead that could peg onto other figures. I feel like it's such a missed opportunity, as it would've been one of the most fun weapon modes with probably a really cool rocket thruster blast effect to go with it.

I don’t have Pteraxodon, but I do have Sights because he came with Jackpot. Neither of them are great on their own, but there’s something about having them as a set that makes them both feel more complete.

I have three our of four, two because I wanted some more melee weapons (one for ER Prime in particular, didn't like Pteraxdon so I got Smashdown since ER Prime can only hold full round handles as I found out when I got Lionizer) and Rung, I love all the tiny painted details on him.

O if you want to look up effects ,try from bandai 30mm effects I bough a kit from that line and playing around is compatibil whit core figure ports I use starscreem nulray on my personal kit ,so is possible 30mm kits that have not only effects but weapons packs to ,to be compatibil whit core ,kingdom and siege

I am surprised that all the target masters got repaints but smashdown being one of the best didn't get a repaint. Since the red one was an autobot I really thought we would get a black and gold repaint as a decepticon.

Pteraxidon personally is leagues above the target masters. Is he perfect? NO! I even have to agree with the points brought up, but they're so much better than say, Aimless. (I seriously can't even peg the arms in for the gun mode, and just want to get rid of him.) Still, I would agree that you don't have to pick it up.

Over all, an interestimg review. But I'm not gonna lie, I think Pheradaxodon is better than Lioniazer. The only thing that agree with been better done on Lionazer than on Pheraxadon, is a bit better articulation. And the hollow bits. But other than that, Lionizer look's quite bad bouth as an robot "lion", and as an sword (or as you said "the oversized butter knife stuck to a block"). Plus the blast effeckt can be used bouth as an "gun blast" and "hit effeckt" to melee weapons. Not to mention the "swoosh" effeckt is quite limited, since out side of Spinger and Meg's... How many sword like, or other sharp weapons we got?

I respect Hasbro for trying something new. It didn't always land,but good hustle and superb effort. Pteraxadon: best of the bunch IMO. Strong on both modes and fast transformation. Smashdown: love the imagination. I wish it were a little bigger. This should be a warhammer coming down to split skulls, not a spare from Bob the Builder left at the work site. Rung: I didn't read the assignment. I know of Rung but don't have a strong connection to the character. If there were a couple more tool based battlemasters I get him in that group but not as a single. Lionizer: My least favorite. Too chunky to be a sword, too small to be a dog for a deluxe. Also didn't Arms Micron do a cool bird/sword micrometer like 5 years ago? I think lionizer wants to be too many things: dog, lion, sword, blaster. Pick one weapon and one beast mode and commit.

i remember being super excited for pteraxadon when i first saw it, because honestly a transforming axe sounded awesome and would work well with the optimus figure I had but as soon as I opened my copy, i moved the wing slightly and that little peg inside collapsed, It was severly disheartening
