I know this is a year ago but the only one that needs to spin his upper body all the way around is Megatron. I think I seen megs do that once. With the lower body I think.

The feet actually collapse more in jet mode. So the look more flat and compact. I’m not a fan of all the extra armour myself.

For being Transformers Siege, that is as close to the G1 version of Skyfire that you can get. I'm going to get it whenever I see him in Sioux Falls or Mitchell, South Dakota.

As a child a friend's father bought him the G1 version and it was awsome. This here is more detailed with the television cartoons. The original was G1 Transformers and Robotech all in one though. I still perfer very first one, never owned it though. I finally get this one over 23 years later. He is worth saving up for all these months to be able to finally purchase him.

This is an awesome TOY! I got it two months ago! I was dazzled by it! I Differ with you saying this is not Jetfire. Yeah in fact, this is Jetfire and Skyfire, in the Comic he was called Jetfire, while in the cartoon he was called Skyfire, the exact same mold. The Armada toy is called Jetfire, in the Japanese and US cartoons, in Energon/Superlink he was Jetfire in the US, but in Japan he was Skyfire. Same for the Generations toy, the US version is Jetfire but the Takara is Skyfire. So all of those toys maybe Jetfire/Skyfire. The only 2 which can only be Jetfire is the Amada/Micron Legend one, since he is Jetfire in both, even though in Superlink he ges back to Skyfire. The other one is the Cybertron/Galaxy Force one, which is JetFire un the US, but Dreadlock in Japan, a complete different character which was cool for me. But Iike to think as him as Jetfire.

Kudos to Hasbro, a more g1 cartoon accurate Skyfire figure than I thought we would ever get from the main toy line. I really like my Takara LG07 Skyfire/Jetfire, it scratches my G1 Skyfire cartoon and G1 toy Jetfire itch perfectly and is a good display scale, but this guy will be hard to resist.

I still remember the day my cousin gave me his Jetfire, I loved Transformers and Macross growing up and I ended up with a bunch of Macross toys thanks to my cousin for years I thought it was all Macross but I remember being told that one of the figures I had wasn't from Macross and finding out the odd history behind Jetfire. He definitely looks different in the cartoons and I now understand why some see him as Skyfire.

The size is perfect. Skyfire was always a fairly large autobot. I get put off with the artist making him shorter than he is when he is actually suppose to be bigger. We never got a animated / cartoon comparison of his size compared with any combiners or Omega supreme just know that he was BIG. Love the dope sound track at the end sir 👍🏾

Just got him this week! I agree that the wrists are a bit wonky and for me the chest plate wouldn’t stay in place without careful placement. Other than that he is an amazing piece. He’s totally worth the price IMO. Hope you enjoy him as much as I am!

Classic Jetfire is based of early IDW, Stormbringer all the way to All Hail Megatron. Dreamwave Jetfire looked almost identical to the cartoon version in the main book with only a removable battle mask, and War Within he’s as a totally different look entirely.

I prefer to call the Macross Valkyrie form used the VF-1J whose original colors were stark white, black and yellow with Jolly Rogers for Roy Focker. Fun fact there was a Jolly Roger emblazoned canopy cover in that version.

Honestly it kind of makes sense to make jet fire as big as a combiner since he used to carry the autobot as a earth transport .kinda fixes the scaling issue ....the scaling cheat works with Megatron and astro train though.

I know it's silly, but I almost wanted to get him just to use many of my weaponizers on him. I can't get more than two weaponizers on most siege figures, and I wonder if Skyfire/Jetfire could take the extra weight.

when i was a kid this kid would visit his Grandparents a couple house down on the weekends . his G1Jetfire was a little different him and his sister was playing and she tripped and fell and broke Jetfire . he got a new Jetfire and he put two next to one in other the gun and armor was different sizes and something else was different but can't remember what . he was only around for G1 season 1 and his Grandparents moved in the middle of season 2 . he got Jetfire before we heard about Jetfire having a toy . the new Jetfire looks like G1 i would take off all that extra stuff so he stays looking like the G1 cartoon .

I'm still a little on the wall about picking this one up. I really wish that he had the brighter red that the other jetfire/skyfire toys had instead of this dark red. Although more cartoon accurate than previous makes of the character.....having him with even more alternate weapons and armor, that more resembled that of the Macross Strike Valkyrie ala'G1 would've been cool too. But who knows......maybe some 3rd party manufacturer out there will make an upgrade kit like that.

Good review, Rodimus. To me, he's Jetfire. The name Skyfire as we know was just something they had to do for copyright reasons, and it just doesn't sound as cool as Jetfire. I suspect that's why he's usually known as Jetfire outside of the G1 animated series. I also don't like the VF-1 design for him. I love that design itself, and the toy is awesome (never had the G1 TF one, but I have three Bandai reissues of the Macross ones), but it doesn't seem right for Transformers and as a Macross fan every time I see that Autobot logo on it just looks jarring. The color scheme looks fantastic though. Ok, now that I've gotten my customary G1 Jetfire micro-rant out of the way, yeah, Siege Jetfire is freaking awesome. You are correct about the shoulders and the hands coming loose from time to time, however I must say that it's not a problem for posing him, as once you get him in position they stay together fine. Aside from that, he's extremely well done. They really nailed the G1 look (the first time a non 3rd party maker has done this, I believe), and his battle mask, additional armor, etc really add to the play and posing value. One of the strengths of the Siege line is versatility, and Jetfire is the most versatile of the bunch, next to the Weaponizers, of course. And that logo flipping feature as a really nice touch. He's the Jetfire I've always wanted. Best figure so far in the Siege line, best figure of the character, and possibly my favorite toy ever. :)

I might try to get the eyes painted on mine. They don't light well. Most of the time their black and lifeless and I just know one day my figure will be unexpectedly looking my way while on display in default bot mode.

None can hold their weight, let alone Hold together. Their All A ClUnKy Mess. W/ perhaps Computron & Abominus being the Best of the standard models, from A physically pliable stand-point anyhow. Although I heard _'Galvatronus'_ ((CW Cyclonus)) works well w/ 2 Dreadwings. Ergo 2 Darkwing's & 2 Dread-Wind deluxe bots (now like $10 each).

he HAS a waist swivel !!! It's a bit limited in terms of range, but it's there. The only thing which bothered me were his dual tone feet so I colored them dark grey as you can see in this pic: i.imgur.com/sN14OLF.jpg Zero QC issues and all joints are tight on my copy. Enjoy yours !

Team Skyfire all the way. I think his size is fine because they made him look huge in the cartoon such as the time Spike and Sparkplug were captured and in the cave only Starscream and Megatron could fit but Skyfire couldn't even fit his head into it.

Took them long enough, no thanks to Harmony Gold holding into Macross. They even sued Hasbro for the SDCC 2013 set, before being dismissed with prejudice, meaning Harmony Gold cannot sue over Jetfire again. F*** Harmony Gold!

@@nicholasdickens2801 Hasbro redesigned Jetfire as a compromise to Takara, who were importing the cartoon to Japan, but failed. The Transformers Legends manga even explains why Skyfire changed to Jetfire: because he evolved from scientist to capable fighter.

I loved the Classics version (and yes it's the same design seen in IDW's Stormbringer mini-series), but never got the Thrilling 30 version. Don't know if I'll get this one, my wallet isn't a big fan of ridiculously big Transformers (besides combiners).
