Why do I block out the Mini-Map with annotations for Sub battle replays?
I block it out because the Mini-Map gives away who sent in the battle replay. And in most cases whoever sends in the battle replay wins the battle. So I block it to keep it a surprise :D

Scenario: Battle of Tangier, 1809 The Coalition from Gibraltar attempt to invade Spanish/French morocco very early on in the Penninsular war. John Moore decides to lead the African offensive instead of campaigning unto Galicia. Noticing this, Jean de Dieu Soult decides to change is plans as well and garrisons himself in a fort on the coast of Tangier. The Coalition forces invade with Austrian, Prussian, and British forces led by Moore. Lacking an effecient navy on both sides due to constant warfare in the Mediterranean, the invasion at first is peaceful as Coalition ships transport their troops unto shore as they camp around the fort. Jean de Dieu persisted to not fire upon them as they camped, in order to save ammunition. The next day at dawn the battle began with artillery being shot from the British side...

i recap your fights at work to my coworkers, and this is by far my favorite! you gotta start naming these battles, or set a time and place! this could have happened during The Flanders Campaign 1793-95. a coalition including Britain and Prussia attempted to invade France with the intention of ending The First French Republic. But lo, they could not break the border forts, and were forced to retreat. The fort at Maubeuge would have been the final line of defense for France, so if the coalition had pushed through that far, this could that fight. France's Last Stand, The Siege of Maubege 1794

The red coat was a optical thing as it's harder to count the soldiers from a distance...unless your howitzer mashed them nicely! A assult should be 3 against 1 for an easier assult. Or nuke em !

My main problem with all of the Total War games from Med I through today: castle and fort walls would not crumble that easily. Especially in MTW II, I am just watching two catapults take down a huge wall with all over 10 hits. Some of the castle walls of the day were literally like the Hornburg, unbreakable under normal circumstances or needed weeks of pounding to get a tiny crack

+jai adlakha "...you can't have everything bro" My friend, I do not want everything, I just want an option. Let us first just set the stage here. I love Total War. I have personally spent hundreds (if not thousands of hours) playing the different Total Wars since I was a teenager. In addition, now that I have less time to play and more time to listen to videos/podcasts like these, I am now spending even more time enjoying Total War just in a different medium. Now that the stage has been set, let us talk about criticism. I am not sitting here making fun of Apollo's voice or vocabulary or excitement like many trolls do. I formed a complete, fairly grammatically correct, comment simply stating how I wish Total War's engine was a bit more realistic when it comes to highly upgraded fort and castle walls. I get frustrated when I upgrade walls for 10k in game money and it seems like it only take 2 more volleys from a catapult or cannon to knock it down. I myself would love the option (similar to unlimited ammo check box) to click "Realistic Battlements" or something like that. This complaint is the same as with the gates being battered down within 3 minutes of a battle. We as modders and general game players love to make realistic battles. We stretch the Total War engine and our computers to create bigger and badder battles. Would you make this negative comment if I were to have said, "Man I really wish they had more troops on the battlefield," hmm? So please do not take this personally as if I was calling your baby ugly or something. It was a small criticism of Total War that I would love to see an option allowing us more epic sieges. Yes, that would mean longer battles, but so does more troops. Cheers mate!

Surprised the fortress cannon was not manned earlier. They can do ALOT of damage if you put the soldiers who'll otherwise be doing nothing on the guns to harass the enemy.

Pixaleted you made a massive mistake with your artillery choices and positioning them. If you'd have brought mortars and only used them during the initial stand off at the breach with Prussia, you'd have probably decimated them because they were all clumped up then.

Yeah I looked it up and found general andy's sound mod, is really good. I prefer just using the Napoleonic 3: Total war mod, its a complete overhaul, really good.
