Apollo there is a mod in steamworkshop that's called nordos faction unlocker that let's you play all minor factions like Rhodes or knossos or nova CHARTAGE

Good video. Siege battles where the defenders are outnumbered are always good and rather more realistic. I really wish players of Rome, and others, would stop using units of totally different eras hundreds of years apart, in the same battle.

In Rome, there were two major political rivals who squabbled for control of the Senate: Flavius Balian and Marcus Vasilios. Both were able statesmen and strong commanders with decades of battle experience. As Vasilios would lead campaigns into Gaul and Germania, Balian was securing Roman control over the Greek city states and the Asia Minor region. But one day, Balian was tired of his rival gaining more power than he could achieve, and decide to rebel against Rome with support of the Hellenistic factions he subdued. As he gathered support from the Seleucid Empire and Baktria, he promised them independence from Rome and the creation of a new Greek Empire to rival that of Alexander. And many were inclined to support his cause.....Except for one. Sparta did not wish to be under the heel of a foreign leader and was willing to call for help from Rome, blowing the whistle on Balian and revealing his rebellion. Upon hearing this, Vasilios gathered support from Subei and his allies of the Iceni, then marched he legions into Greece and met up with the Spartans. Now, his army soon lay siege to his rival at the city of Athens, who Balian has made his capital. Soon, this heated and epic rivalry will come to a close, and only one can emerge victorious.

Apollo, I love your streams & your videos, been following you for at least 5 years, maybe longer. Anyway, the graphics looked awesome & I'm glad you're becoming fonder of Rome II now. I guess the reason the attackers weren't trying to flank around at the end was because with all their skimishers out of ammo, no one fancied taking on the Selucid General with those armoured elephants. Epic victory for the defenders.

About the paintings on the shields. There was a battle once between two armies of hoplites. Same armor, same weapons, same equipment but nothing to show who's on which side.. So they had many friendly killing, and the armies got depleted from that. So they started drawing their shields showing in which side they are. Sparta had the "Λ", Athens had the owl, Thebes had the bee and Macedonia the sun of Vergina.

Elephants were actually famously afraid of horses. It's actually how Rome gained it's first victory vs Carthage. No idea why total war doesn't use this.

Yet another brutal beautiful battle, I love watching the archers firing there arrows into the enemy ranks and taking many lives.This is a no-brainier in my opinion and a good way to soften up the enemy.However you must give them infantry or Calvary support. It's good to watch mistakes happen as this would be the case in real life.Keep up the good work. BIG BEES.

Good battle. I think another life of a solider would do great for you since most people seem to love them. I use OBS too, there's another version of OBS made by Streamlabs, based on OBS, I haven't that version tho. I think any changes they did mostly focused on making streaming better but don't quote on that.

I wish CA can move all artillery units to be buildable ONLY during the siege. And if possible, to let the generals randomly get certain traits to unlock the certain type of artillery to build in a siege and available those for the generals with the special trait in their fortified stance would be neat. Moving artillery around along with a marching army stack was already weird in M2TW, and when it came to R2, without campaign movement penalty it just became weirder. Anyway, I like this ending a lot!

Spartans generally used lambda as it was the first letter of Laconia, similarly alpha was used in Athens. The fly story comes from Plutarch. You should take everything that comes from Plutarch as propaganda. Loads of historical stuff we know from him has been disproven.
