This video really highlights just how thinned defenders actually were. The fact that Krieg army managed to march through the swamp shows that there were barely any troops left defending, barring plague zombies. Collapse of all other defensive lines proved the same. This is partly, because defenders were exhausted and partly, because Chaos warriors already got their fill and were preparing to evacuate from the planet via warp portals. Titans and veteran armies of Vraks escaped to plague Imperium for centuries to come.

Yes the Vraksians are truly wavering at this point. The constant bombing raids and titans at their very doorstep are definitely paying of. Areas that were once highly defended are now rolling over to die. Next video will start delving into that.

Chaos wasn't done just yet, I think. Some were pulling out, but the Khornates were very hyped about Anggrath. It wasn't until the greater demon was banished that Chaos morale crumbled and traitor marines bailed out en masse.

I don't know the lore and I'm holding back learning it so that this series can teach me. I don't think that ALL enemy forces were trapped in the citadel, there were some nurgle forces that escaped to the south after the battle. I can't help but feel like they are going to be a problem later.

I had assumed Kagori was unlike his predessesor and had remained in orbit of Vraks for his tenure as lord commander. I don't see why you would ever command a theatre that many systems away. Relying on Psykers to give command instructions seems unnessisarily risky.

Haven't read up on the lore of the Siege of Vraks so I don't know what happens next, but if I know anything about Warhammer Battles, any character thinking that a siege or drawn out battle would end soon is a sign that it most certainly will not

Tbh, it's hard to imagine the regular, non-chaos Vraksians putting much of a fight anymore. What are even their objectives at this point? Their planet is a ruined wasteland, they have known only war for years, they are barely any of the original dissidents left, holed up in the citadel, their defences are completely overrun by decadent chaos forces... There is only one side this is a fun time for, and it's neither the Imperium nor the Vraksians. I must assume those who didn't give up and stand by rote force of habit have lost their mind to chaos completely.

Why didn't they ask for space marine assistance earlier. After 3 million dead you'd think someone would go "yes technically attrition could work, but maybe we should just poke a couple holes in the defenses to speed this up". If they had stronger units during any of the vraksian counter attacks they could have capitalized on their momentum instead of stalling.

Personally, I think Hector Rex is one of the biggest Mary Sues in the entirerty of 40k. He's nearly a Space Marine, a Psyker, a Lord Inquisitor, has a master-crafted relic sword, command over an entire space sector, an entire legion of followers and effectively a space marine chapter, can 1-on-1 a Bloodthirster (and not just any 'thirster)...I mean, can this guy get any more OP? He basically causes the Grey Knights (!) to fade into the background as mundane.

If i remember based on Luetin its not the emperor who establish the grey knights. It was Malcador. So the whole inquisition and power that they hold is in fact, for the Emperor, a Heresy.
