Airport looks beautiful. I just wished the the entire airport roof has solar panels to capture electricity for use inside the airport. Please, no casinos in Siem Reap. Women will be exploited in these casinos and it will rot the fabric of Khmer families. Have them go to Sihanoukville for that.

we all will miss the little "privat" one just out of town in tuc-tuc distance.... But this is the way it goes. In 10- 20 years only we old ones look back.

This is going to make getting to actual Siem Reap town harder, not easier for most people. SO far away from town. All the easy quick tuktuks that small guesthouses/travellers could arrange will be MUCH more expensive and difficult. This is for big groups. Dare I say Chinese. Hope at least a tiny bit of the money they bring in gets to Cambodian small business not only 'special' zone.

I agree it's like 40km out of town

The old Siem Reap airport is too close to the temples of Angkor and could damage it in long term. Do you care about the heritage site or your pocket?

Hopefully they will provide buses services as well as taxi from new Siem Reap Airport to the the center of Siem Reap. All airport around the word are situated far away from the city for a reason - Safety. They will also have lot of demand for skill jobs. Check out with Siem Reap airport authority for special training, even for cleaning the airport and roads etc..

Do you remember when they had to give up moving the Provincial Administration Center to the new build East of Siem Reap city? Just half the distance to the new airport. Driving there on their moto, the employees spend too much of their salaries on gasoline when still living in their homes. To make a living from the salary, the airport employees will have to relocate to SEZ. How many will give up their life in the city and move 50km away?

@@imperialkhmer6146I care about the heritage and suggest all old diesel trucks should be banned from the streets of Siem Reap. The pollution is way more devastating for the old buildings at Angkor Park.
