I have a question about shield grounding. Isn't grounding on both ends of the cable dangerous due to possible potential differences of the ground in those two points???

Hi, We're working with one of my customers to install the isoPROFIBUS PCI card onto a newer generation motherboard i5 vs P4, we installed the 6AU1390-0AA00-0AA0 / isoPROFIBUS card into the new computer and moved over the XP installation as well, windows loads but the isoPROFIBUS card has an error coming up in device manager (error 37). We tried re-installing the driver to no avail and were hoping for an update to the driver or help with this error. Basically we would like to run our Thermwood software on a newer generation pc without upgrading the whole machine... You suggestions and replies are greatly appreciated.
