Beautiful presentation and valuable radio . Your description shows that you know the subject. In my opinion strong side of it are exceptinal speaker set (alnico magnets and perfect size assuring wide range), probably (up to my experience should be in german radio in this era) ultralinear class B amplifier with prized2x EL84, and AM HF stage securing sensitivity and low mirror reflections on SW. I for all my life care for even more unusual radio, any way not looking so good shape and impressive as Siemens which was produced in Poland in end of 30tiies and named Elektrit Automatic. no FM, only A class and no ferrite antenna, no HF (tube) - instead motorized automatic tunning and 4x IF band selection and double RF tunning -. 10 years ago I did presented it here in my channell. After years It is perfectly now aligned by me and with original tubes. In past I used other best radios, like Stradivari 2 comparable to this Siemens and Dennmark tube and solid radios, I repaired my brother Beethoven also comparable to that Siemens but couldn't find any better reception and sound than my radio has. It is due to basicaly different IF frequeancy - 128,5 kHz which was luxory radio standard in 30 ties

I saw this video yesterday and i have the same radio and restored it a couple of months ago. This is a very rare radio and hard to find also here in Europe and in those years 54/55 it was the most expensive table radio and it is still the biggest radio ever built. I think in the USA are not many Siemens P48 radio's . It must have cost many dollars in those years to get this radio to he USA. The sound of this radio is really overwhelming and the best sounding tube radio i have ever had. The knob you mentioned on the right side (abstimmung) has no function , but it is missing a small sort of clamp on the shaft. There are collectors who would pay a lot of dollars for this Siemens Kammermusik-Schatulle P48 . This radio is not only rare but also made in small numbers. This radio of yours looks awesome and speaker cloth is perfect and also the cabinet is looking awesome. Does he FM scale goes up to 108 MHz? Most tube radio's in that era for the USA had a FM scale up to 108 MHz and here in Europe only to 100 MHz. Very nice video. Hans (Netherlands)

Thanks for your comments and the info your provided. Good to know that I did not miss anything on the function of the right side knob. The FM scale goes up to 99 + a few lines so maybe 102Mhz- not for the US market except that it did have the voltage switch. I have no idea how they got it here- possibly the owner was stationed in Germany and picked it up there and so shipping it back would have been free. I should know in a few days about the potential sale of this to someone in Europe- if he has a way to get it there economically. If I had the room for it I would be tempted to purchase it from my friend.

Wow I would buy that in a heartbeat but sadly I am in the UK . Shipping from your country would cost a fortune and also the risk of damage . I have a few German radios of that era . When working correctly they sound fantastic . Not easy to work on though . Someone will get a great but with that one . Nice video .

Thank you so much for the kind comments, and you don't even know how much she is asking for it (a very reasonable amount :) ) The estimate I got to ship it was about $1400 to the country in Europe, but the guy who is interested may have another way to get it there cheaper than UPS. It sounds great and gets louder than I would most likely ever play it.
