Please, leave the building by the [checks script], Nearest, Exit. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS!
@joeycaridi30303 жыл бұрын
The reason why for that on the MXL is because the voice card is switching to a different recording. This decision was made so that "nearest exit" could be replaced with an alternate direction such as "fire stairway", as Pyrotronics did not allow for custom messages to be recorded at the factory; they had to either be recorded onsite or assembled from the existing message vocabulary

This wasn’t used in the World Trade Center during the 9/11 attacks, only the whoop sound was used, since a human voice announcer would use a speaker and direct employees in the correct direction in case of an emergency

@@Kirby7601 Error on the filmmaker's part, from what I've read though the WTC's Cerberus Pyrotronics system actually just played a whoop, no message, probably because they already had personnel in the building who could either use the mic at the panel or remote microphones to talk over all the speakers in the system & tell the occupants exactly what was going on.

To everyone saying that this is the alarm sound that both WTC towers had: not exactly. From what we know the systems played a whoop tone but no message.

@@sfs2040 I'm _pretty sure_ there was no message, especially going by the few available recordings of the alarm sounding on 9/11. They had personnel in the building who could make voice announcements, thus they didn't need the system to as well.

You could be mistaken for the FIRECOM 8500 Which had a slow whoop that kind of sounded like the Cerberus.. but with a little more distortion... people gave fire alarms to the wtc 1970s-1993 until when The WTC installed the Cerberus Pyrotronics MXL-V| Voice Assist (From What I know.)
