That's nice you go back to the rez to help your community. I left in '84 and no desire to return. It took 30 yrs to visit. Seeing the rez from your prospective and working with sheep and goats took me back to my childhood. Wealth comes in many forms. Thank you for sharing.

I remember driving to Farmington from Toadlena every weekend for groceries. Long boring drive. And now I have 6 grocery stores within 5 mins of my house. My kids dont know the hardships we had to go through. I wish they had my childhood. It would toughen them up so much. Great video.

Exactly! Me too! If I ever have kids they will for sure spend a lot of time on the Rez. 😄

I loved this vlog Sierra. It was good to see the mountains. I met up with my in-laws in Albuquerque to deliver supplies as well. From there, I stayed with sister and her family for two weeks. It was a much needed trip, and I'm glad you made it there and back to Arizona safely. Stay safe!

I feel for you, going home with such a mixed bag of emotions: Happy to see family, it's great to enjoy time with them, but especially to help them, and to encourage them in these difficult times; & the Joy of Graduation! (Congratulations to your little sister!! I have a niece who had her "virtual graduation" too, the other day. It sucks, what has happened with the Virus.) Sheep shearing took me back to growing up on our farm. I remember that - and shearing by hand is Tough work!! Good job!! (I hope you can open your hand!!) I am looking forward to the recipe vlog after the next one!! God bless you and your family, Sierra!! Hang in there! (P.S. The scenery is beautiful out at the camp where your sister had her graduation pictures taken! It must be a special place for you and family. Thank you so much for sharing it with us all!!)

Hello, Sierra. New subscriber. I’m from Tsaile originally. My wife from Fort Defiance. I read the title and said to my mrs, “let’s check it out”. So here I am. Great to see you helping your family. No explanation needed. My wife has sheared sheep too, she was saying I would’ve been awesome to have them electric clippers. AND she saw roasted flour, I can’t spell/say it in Navajo, lol. But she knows how to make it. She added that your mixture needed more sugar! Lol! I then I saw your family camp area! I so know that place. When we hunt during the fall we camp up. I grew up in them mountains. I really, almost cried. I haven’t been there in sooooo long. I love that well that is right before entering that open meadow. Well... I love your video. It really took me back. Thanks for sharing.

Seeing you stop at places on your trip & going thru Gallup brings a lot of memories. Thank you. You see my mom brought my sibling and I when I was a baby. See did everything on her own. Most of my family are from window rock and St. Michaels. There were 2 family members we went home for & they both Past away the last 2 years. They were the only reason we went home for. Now we’re debating what we should do with the land that was left for us....

Hello! Omg that’s so cool! I never seen the electrical cutter your mom was using. It looks like that makes the job easier. When I was young we use to use the ones you guys used on the goats.
